I was just wondering if anyone on these forums has any e-bay success stories or selling tips for other users? Or maybe some of you supplement your income or make a living off of it?

My Story
The most I've ever made is one time when I worked in a video game store we had a bunch of old Official X-Box remote control DVD playback kits that I had to re-price to £5 to clear the way for the Xbox 360 stuff. So I asked the store manager if he'd mind if instead I bought them all on my 20% staff discount (£4 for the mathematically challenged) and he said that was cool cause he needed rid of them. So I got these 10 playback kits back home and listed them on e-bay one at a time throughout the week. Anyway they all sold between £10-£12 as the RRP at the time was about £19.99 in the shops so I ended up with around £110 for a nights work which was pretty cool considering I was on minimum wage at work.

Anyway I'm sure there's plenty of you on here who've made a killing on e-bay so post away!

Selling Tips
  • Try and start your biddings on £0.99/$0.99 whenever possible.
  • Auctions with no reserve price are more likeley to be bid on.
  • Most people are on e-bay on sunday evening so try to get your auctions to end around then.
  • Make your listings at least 7 days long so everyone gets a chance to see it.
  • Most bids take place in the closing hours of the auction so don't get too worried when nobody is bidding.
  • Pictures, pictures and more pictures. (Parker)
  • You really need good fucking pictures, from many different angles, close enough to have a lot of detail, but not blurry. (Stryker)
  • Add as much information as possible as you can to a tee.(Poseidon)

If people want to add to this list just post them and I'll put them in here.

I've probably sold $1,500 worth of stuff. The thing that sells things the best is descriptions, and pictures. You really need good fucking pictures, from many different angles, close enough to have a lot of detail, but not blurry.

I've just started selling. I have two game used hockey sticks up right now and a lot of 33 hockey jersey cards.

I've made about 200 dollars from other shit already.

Add as much information as possible as you can to a tee.
