Read up on a guide about proper leveling, I could explain it, but I dont want to.

And if you got console version, you missed out on a totally different game, not only can I just torrent my official plugins like SI and KOTN, but I get a heap of sweet mods which create an entirely and more challenging game.
I like the gauntlet style one. Rofl... I used to use it anyway. When I played Oblivion.

Rofl... Hordes of enemies are good for a laugh.

Shit I wish Mercenaries was released for PC. Prefer it's style gameplay for open ended stuff.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

I don't understand why noone ever suggests just turning the difficulty down if it gets too hard... No need to 'never sleep'. Who the hell thought that one up lol? Turning down the dificulty when you need to > never sleeping.

I don't get why people would
a) make the game easier by not sleeping
b) make the game easier by reducing the difficulty level

If you take good note of leveling as optimal as possible (I do have to add that on a PC with the right mod this is way easier because you don't need to write it down / remember it) the game isn't at all difficult and the NPCs aren't at the same level as your character after ... level 10 - 15. When your character is completely maxed out, you'll start looking for ways to make the game more difficult rather than easy (hence mods for more realistic animal behavior, like hunting in packs, yet again this only for the pc version)

So the only good tip is to make sure to advance in your minor skills in good relation to your major skills so you can optimally increase your experience levels with the maximal amount of bonus.
If you'd like more info on apt leveling, wrestle yourself through this: http://www.neoseeker.com/resourcelink.h … rid=120837 Personally I'd rather just make a character type you like and play the game, without worrying much about your choice. In the end all initial differences are gone at higher levels (which I personally dislike about Oblivion, your initial choice doesn't really determine much in the flow of the game)

This site is a good place for mod if you happen to buy the PC version. Keep an eye out for ones like:

Apophis: Armoury of the Silver Dragon
Adrenaline Oblivion
Bob's Armoury
Eldrac's Armoury
Akaviri Imports
Beautiful People

All of them (except Adrenaline and Beautiful People) add a ton of new weapons and clothes to the game. (Bob's, Aopohis and Imports are all levelled mods, so don't expect killtacular weapons from them)

Adrenaline multiplies the amount of enemies you face. (To balance it, they are made slightly weaker) Goblin wars in this really are Wars!

Beautiful People adds hair styles, eye colours and a few new races. (I play as a Skyrim Khajiit)

I found turning down the difficulty a bit made the game more fun, not cos Im a noob, just because it can speed things along a bit.

I wouldn't turn down the difficulty until you have beaten the game and all the guild quests. I did, and am now playing through it on the lowest difficulty, and am glad I played it through on normal first. I'm now playing as a Marksman Wood Elf, and I can generally kill people with one shot, even without sneak attacks, and I can kill as many guards as I want by finding a fountain/round plaza and running backwards while they follow me - They're too slow to hit me with swords, but the game doesn't recognize that, so they don't switch to bows. I can just shoot arrows backwards at them as they follow me around the fountain. This strategy works well, as long as you're not in a heavily populated area - Talos Plaza for example - because do-gooder civilians will join the fight, and some of them can outrun you or use bows and arrows.

To the OP: If you need more help, send me a friend request on Xbox Live, since I already forgot your name after reading the thread and don't want to go back to find it. My Gamertag is RedTwizzler
