I'm sorry but this issue really pisses me off. A large wall would make alll the diffreence. As it is, they walk accross in crowds every day. A wall would limit it to some extent. Most(but not all) of the people with higher skilled jobs immigrate here legally, because they have more to lose if the US actually cracks down on illegal aliens. It's not the Mexicans themselves I dislike. I have mexican friends who came here legally. It is the fact that our southern border are so unprotected. Illegals from the south border are practically made citizens, while illegals coming in any other way are shipped back.
If you have proof of large amounts of people coming over any of the other borders besides the Mexican/American border, and not being sent back, by all means, let me know!
First of all I don't hate anyone, and yes my first post may have been a little harsh but I feel very strongly on this issue like many of you here.
The Irish, Italians, Polish etc. immigrants who came to this country in the 20's and 30's came here legally and quickly assimilated to the American way of life and the values of this country, for the most part. They became citizens, paid there taxes, and helped our great nation grow.
The influx of immigrants from south of the border are an entirely different story. The didn't go through the proper channels to become citizens here, they found it easier to cross a desert or jump a fence in search of the American dream. Now this group, which have no right even being on our soil have demands? They demand equality, the demand amnesty, they demand respect, and they think they own certain parts of our country. Basically we, as Americans, are in the midst of an invasion by immigration and it's partly our fault. The administration in D.C. has been dragging their feet on this issue and U.S. employers higher these people off the books to save money. The don't pay taxes yet they demand social services like they have the right to them. One poster said it perfectly in a previous post when he stated he couldn't even call his credit card company without being prompted to "press one" for a Spanish directory, and that to me is ridiculous. If these people want our respect they need to learn our language and history, wave our flag, and become legal citizens. For us to except them and recognize them as something other than a problem they need to do these things, if they love our country as much as they say they do then I don't think this is asking too much. If they can't do this then I think we need to show them the door.

So off-the-books employees are not registered, and the payroll tax collected (1/2 is company paid, 1/2 is withheld and paid by the company) is not paid, because it would leave a trail back to those breaking the law.
But yes, they do pay the sales tax part...

I always thought they had to do with the fact that we got Florida from Spain when it was ceded, and the rest from Spain later on...which is probably why they have Spanish roots...so I'm wondering....
