Yeah, I went about a month or two ago. It's...pretty boring, to be honest. You probably won't even be chosen for the case, meaning you'll just sit in a room with like 40 other people waiting for four hours...and then you can go home.

I was summoned once back when I had just turned 18. A day or two before I was suppose to head down to the court house I got a call saying I wasn't needed anymore since the people had settled the matter outside of court.
It depends what case you get. Criminal cases can be very interesting, while civil cases are often very, very boring. I was summoned about a year ago and I got stuck with a civil case, I could barely keep my eyes open but it got me out of work.
If you want to increase your chances of being dismissed, do your best to ask as many questions as possible. The more a person appears to be able to think for themselves, the less chance they have to get selected.

I was able to get out of one of my summonses (yes, that is proper grammar) because I'm good family friends with two states attorneys.

If you aquit the dude tell everyone in the Jury to not look at the defendant when they come out. That'll scare the shit out of him/her, no Jury ever looks at the person they've just convicted.

Tell them that you don't speak english. I hear of people doing that all the time. You can just be finishing up a conversation with the guy, but the second you say that you don't speak english, they tell you you can leave.
