Hello all, as we all know, its not too hard to gain a serious amount of medals, ribbons etc etc....but do they really demonstrate a players abilties or failings?

I'd would have like to have seen some awards that really take some teamplay and effort to gain and perhaps these awards could have pertained to some new ranks.

Also in the same light, i would have liked to see some awards (if they could be considered that) for spammers, bunnyhoppers, excessive tk'rs etc etc....

maybe this is a shite set of questions, no doubt teh flames will roll in, as long as theyre funny i dont mind

I think a set of awards for really really good players would be nice.

Maybe a very high k/d ratio in a round with a minimum amount of kills. Or an infantry medal for use of actual guns rather than grenades and armour. And there should definitely be a shock paddle kills medal.

Also, yeah, a set of 'awards' to show up the nade spammers and bunny hoppers would also be nice .

I have created and expanded the Awards granted by EA for my admins.
I name a medal after an admin with 1000+ hours.
You can see them on www.nosuggestions.com (scroll down on the cover page)

Having a bunch of awards or badges doesn't necessarily make you a good player.  Take Sgt. Bennet for instance.  He will continue to proclaim he is the best because he has every medal in the game but in fact, he is probably as bad a player as there is.

"Good player" is a relevant term. There is no universally accpeted measurement for this and if there was I'm sure someone would figure out how to pad or hack it as well.

Being humble makes you a good player.

Having all the awards means you have dedicated yourself to accomplish the requirements.

I tend to believe that a mid-ranked player with a large variety of medals is probably better overall at the game than someone who has expert badges and medals in a select few areas. Note that I said overall. The one guy has his specialty, but I prefer a Jack-of-all-trades, in war you must be able to adapt to your surroundings and to the enemy's tactics, you can't stick with the same old thing every time.

Yep, let's add some awards that are just like the original awards... Oh wait everyone complained that they were too hard....

And I'm against making more awards with higher qualifications, because the same thing will happen like awards now, someone will stat-pad until they get it.  Then all the "Elite" players will be angry with stat-padders, and claim they are truly great because they earned them the right way, but no one believes them because "everyone" Stat-pads, so they want even more awards so they can prove themselves, and then someone will stat-pad to get them.............

It's a vicious cycle that is under control now, so I really don't want to see it happen again.

Just like the 10 minutes in parachute-ribbon.
