Have you tried using the laptop where the other computer is? You could use the laptop to move around the house and check the wireless signal. Are there any metal object between the router and the other PC. Phone sky and/or netgear. Do you have any phone extensions around the house, If so you could move the router. Do you have a telephone extension cable to move the router around a bit?

This may sound semi retarded but do you possibly have any signal stopping materials in the ceiling ?
I had the same problem because there was some sort of fabric stopping signals by 70% when i used wireless (btw switched back to wire)

No. Because I had wireless before this. With a very powerful USRobotics router and I could get strong signal ANYWHERE in the house. Even the garden had signal.

Why thank you Justice. Your advice just made my connection 200kbps worse.
I know have a connection of 300kbps with the WG111T.

What is the configuration you have it at?

I can't seem to fix this problem...

I might just have to try with a wired mouse....

There, just tested with a wired mouse and it makes absolutely NO difference.

Sky broadband, yet again, has had a shit on my face.

Well, seeing as you told me to go buy the wrong adapter, that may explain it.

Dude...look at the top of your configuration settings
WG111v2.
NOT WG111T.

There is a HUGE difference.

Well I'm sorry I didn't think to look at the top of my settings box for the name, my sister has the T she had the same problem as me and that also works so it doesn't really make a difference. The T box is identical I just grabbed and gave the name...but hey you can go buy the v2 if you want, you are just getting a worse adapter.

Hey, I wasn't angry at you, I am just pissed off at sky.

I get around 75% packet loss on any server that is further away than europe.
Or 100% sometimes.

I really hate this...

A few weeks now.
The weird thing is, that when we started using it I had an awesome connection. Then I installed my new adapter and everything just went down from there.

Hmm... Have you got the Windows Wireless configuration thing completely disabled?

I used wireless for a short while and had all sorts of compatability issues between the Windows configurator and the Netgear one...

When I had wireless connection, I realised that the receiver was only good for throwing at walls...

How may I completely disable the windows configuration?

Also, Gawwad, I think I have realised that now.
Just went out to buy 25metres of ethernet cable.

IIRC, what I eventually found to work was one of the following options:

1.a. start from a clean install (or in your case, first uninstall the netgear utility completely and skip b.).
   b. Install the netgear driver only.
   c. Open Network Connections.
   d. Right-click Wireless Network Connection, and then click Properties.
   e. On the Wireless Networks tab, clear the Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings check box.
   f. Then install the netgear utility.

or:

2.a. start from a clean install (or in your case, first uninstall the netgear utility completely)
   b. install the netgear driver only.
   c. use the windows wireless configurator.

If I installed the netgear utility when the windows configurator was enabled I had no end of issues, including extremely low bandwidth, until I completely uninstalled it.

Check on the netgear website for manual uninstall instructions - I seem to remember there was more to completely uninstalling the netgear utility than just running the uninstall...

Hope that's of some help - sorry I can't be more specific - I eventually ended up switching to a wired connection for different reasons, so it's been a while...
