Gun times in vehicles

Something i thought of while i was on holiday...

When in a vehicle obviously you receive time for that particular vehicle and for the class you are playing.
But do you also receive time for the gun you have in your hand ?

Or is your weapon counted as say -tank or chopper.

(Yes i searched)

Also of course if you are in a back of a car not in the gunner position or flying cow not a gunning position i would assume you got hours for the weapon you have in your hand.

It count toward the vehicle you are in and the weapon you are using. That why commanders get in black hawks on wake so they can get transport time, weapon time, and vehicle time.

i can understand camping whilst commander in transport as a certan kit, but weapon?

it doesnt give weapon time

ive played nrly 350 hours with about 60 hrs assault rifle and less than that for sniper rifles so i dont think it does mate

No you do not get weapon time since the vehicle is your weapon, bit it might depend on the seat you are in. Look at your stats and add your total vehicle time plus your total weapon time. They should add up close to your total time. This isn't exact since you have equipment like clays and at mines, and some like grenades and shock paddles are counted as equipment and weapons.

It might also depend on what seat you are in since you can use your kit weapon on seats 4, 5, and 6 in the Blackhawk. You can also shoot your kit weapon from the second seat while on top of the mobile AA like the Linebacker.
