I'm a huge electronic music fan, and I like basically all types of it (trance, techno, electro, leftfield, house, ambient, IDM, downtempo, turntablism, drum 'n' bass, you name it... oh except Euro-trance, sorry Italy ). Anyways, I just wanted to ask any Germany or Norway natives if they can recommend me any good music from their countries. Keep in mind I'm in America, though, so some of it isn't easily accessible to me
I've been listening to Kraftwerk pretty much since I was born (thank the parents for that), and they never get old, even 20 years later and I have all their CDs. I'm also a fan of Rammstein (they're electronic as well as metal) and have most of their CDs too. Lately I've been listening to Pandora Internet Radio and I discovered Funker Vogt that way and I got their CD "Navigator" which has some great songs on it. Oh and I also got Ellen Allien & Apparat's album "Orchestra of Bubbles) a while back and I really love that.
As for Norway, I first saw Royksopp perform at the Hollywood Bowl a couple years ago and they were un-fucking-believable, so I got their CDs and have been loving them ever since. Then I also heard a Bermuda Triangle track off a mix by John Digweed and recently got their CD "Mooger Fooger" which is amazing. I'm also planning on getting their latest album "33rpm". I've also listened to The Knife and they're hit-and-miss for me. Couple tracks I really like (The Bridge, Forest Families, Silent Shout) and then others are just ugh. Oh and I'm pretty sure The Knife is Norwegian, but then I also get a feeling that they could be Icelandic.
So anything else you electronic music fans like? I'll take recommendations from anyone, but since I obviously like German and Norwegian EDM best, I'd gladly appreciate those
oh yeah, and for those who aren't even going to contribute and just say shit like techno sucks and it all sounds the same: fuck off and go start an anti-edm thread, leave this for people who actually like the music
