No. It's the first time in about a thousand years Jews have found a place where they are free to hold any political, military or other position in society, and where their neighbors will never form mobs and burn down their houses. The threats faced by Israelis are entirely unlike the threats faced by Jews throughout history.

HA! That's funny. Did you read the OP? Jews held officer positions in Iran UNTIL Israel was formed. Jewish banker families held positions of huge power and authority throughout history. Just because the Inquisition and Nazi germany are notable in history does not mean that everyone ever was anti-jewish. Why don't you join reality?

Great - they destroyed other people's wellbeing to have their own. So why don't we just force everyone out of the USA and let Mexicans go there - they'll get more money, and they seem to be going there anyway?

The reason we don't force everyone out of the US and let Mexicans go there is that (1) Mexicans have not been persecuted in hundreds of countries for hundreds of years, (2) Mexicans do not have historical ties to most of the land that forms the current US, and (3) Mexicans are not currently fleeing from industrialized mass murder. If Mexicans were subject to these three conditions, I would be willing--in fact eager--to agitate for a homeland for Mexicans. I mean, other than Mexico. I wouldn't deny that the founding of Israel was entirely simple, painless or fair (much like the founding of the US and dozens of other countries), but it is just ignoring the issue to suggest that helping Mexicans make more money is comparable to Jews fleeing centuries of persecution.

No, the OP says Jews were purged from the military after the Islamic revolution in 1979. In any case, Jews have been persecuted in Iran since the 16th century. The founding of Israel is not a plausible explanation for anti-Jewish sentiment in Iran that began more than 400 years ago.

No one said that everyone ever was anti-Jewish. The fact that a few wealthy Jewish families were not persecuted does not change the fact that many Jews were. The point is that Israel was founded because Jews had a reasonable fear of persecution by their government and countrymen in any country other than their own. Singling out Nazi Germany and the Inquisition leaves out the historical context: a long chain of informal and state-sponsored anti-Jewish actions which includes the expulsion of Jews from England and Spain, legal restrictions on Jews in Russia, etc. etc. I'm just pointing out that the condition of Jews in Iran today is consistent with that ancient tradition.

Perhaps this thread shouldn't focus on Islam based anti-semitism.
In fact, many anti-semitic sentiments originated in Europe and Russia, such as the so called practice of kidnapping children and drinking their blood, or the plot to take over the world in the  Protocols of Elder Zion.

From a historical standpoint the Jews have always been outsiders and shunned, but perhaps this sentiment is only presenting itself in the open in Islamic countries.
