G36e > L85a1
The L85A1 is NOT as accurate as is claimed. It's actually quite inaccurate I like using it though, in long range battles, although the G36E is better i think. Burst fire is excellent because you can unload more rounds in less time.
Don't count the L85 out yet..the crappy accuracy and recoil are gonna change in the next patch (although with EA they may just make it worse but I have a feeling the can't nerf the L85 anymore).
What did they do to kill the L85?? It rocked so much in the demo...Blam!!! your dead. prone/single shot blam! blam! blam! blam. "You on the other side of the base!, your dead!!!"
and the G36E isn't best...the G36K is (full auto with burst replacing single shot).

Ummmmmmmm.........If you haven't unlocked either, then you have to unlock the L85 before you can get the G36.

The short 3 round bursts helps increase accuracy and a double-tap usually drops everyone at close range, any closer and I use the knife!
I very much prefer the G36E over the L86A1. Accuracy is there, and since I have extensive use with the G36C, the G36E isn't much different in handling and firing. I even prefer the default Medic weapons over the L85A1, especially the AK-47 and AK-101 for the firepower and sound.

I like the G36e but the L85a1 is also good the G36e makes more kills
G36E for USMC all the time, its better than M16A2 same accuracy but lil bit more damage.
G36E for MEC at long range maps, but in City maps nothing owns an AK101...
For PLA also G36E, because of the long range advantage and the PLA have no city maps.
If there were a PLA urban map with much more CQC I´d prefer also the AK47 over the G36E

just to let you guys know, the patch has changed the Accuracy of the L to match, rather closely, that of the AK101
I like the G36E. It's a cool looking gun that packs a punch, and is accurate. I find open-sites fine to use, and the single barb-like scope on the L85A1 dosn't really add much. The burst fire helps me with accuracy, and the single fire shots are powerful enough to be effective.
The L85A1 has let me down a couple of times where the G36E would have been the better weapon - accuracy wise mostly. For example, there was some guy - a wonderful target on a hillside. I had the sights right on him and fired off single shots, and they were hitting really far from where I was aiming. He killed me, and I was the last guy alive unfortunatly. The G36E would have taken him out in one burst.
Still, I like the Automatic L85A1 in closer combat, where using the scope is hardly an issue. That said, I'd still probably opt for the G36E 90% of the time.

amen i think the SA80 might be a force to be reckoned with after the patch, least i hope so i hate the g36e with its 3 shot burst, so i always go with the sa80 and it can also be used in burst mood if you know howthe_ubernoob_ wrote:

It's funny how the description of the L85A1 says, "The British had to change their markmanship test because of the weapon's unrivaled accuracy" when the gun can't hit hardly anything at Medium ranges.
If you go prone with an L85A1 against a G series weapon at medium range, you're gonna be critically wounded in a matter of seconds.
I've cursed at that gun more times than any other weapon in the game.

The G36e is better that the L85a1 in every aspect except at long range. This is where the L85a1 with scope and on single shot shines.
In my opinion, the g36e is the best gun of the game. Very accurate. Some people prefer the full auto but i got used to the 3shots mode and its total pwnage.

I like the L85A1 because I love the way it looks and I love the sight on it. But when it comes down to overall capabilities I have to go with the G36E.
It's a toss up to me. I like the full auto of the L85, but it's accuracy sucks. I like the accuracy of the G36E, but it doesn't have auto fire. That burst fire gets me killed in CQC because I forget it doesn't have full auto.

well you need to unlock the L8 before the G36E anyway.... but the G36E is wayy better than L8

I don't know why people are saying the L85 straight up sucks. It's scoped, and has damn high power and firing rate. Recoil's a bitch, yeah, but it you aim for the head on the first shot it's pretty much done.
That being said though, the G36E is infinitely better. 3 shot bursts or no, the thing's accuracy is sickening. The gun's so damn good it's cheap. Just train the gun on the head and one burst does the trick. Just another reason for everyone to be a point whoring medic...in addition to getting points for EVERYthing you do short of breathing, you can now go on a kill crazy rampage with the best assault rifle in the game.

ive shot a guy from oil tower to hotel.in oman with a l85, took time, but killed him, its a good gun, takes time to master
When special forces first came out I used the G36E a lot & thought it was the better of the two, but now I would chose the L85 over it almost every time, it just tends to be better at range.
i used the m16 for a long time until i unlocked the g36e and now that's all i need. it is the best gun in the game in my opinion. about the only thing i can't do with it is kill a tank but i can get pretty darn close...lol
