Up until yesterday I was able to play BF2 perfectly fine. Then I got 5 crash-to-desktops all within today and yesterday. It's pissing me off so much! I wait forever for it to load, and then it crashes. Either that or just now, I found a good server and played a couple rounds and was really getting my groove on and then when a round ended and it was time to start another one, the join game screen popped up and then it crashed.

I'm not running any other programs, I haven't been doing anything differently on my computer that I have before. I haven't installed anything new lately. I'm doing a full virus scan right now, if that doesn't help, then I dunno what to do.

This is just super frustrating. These past few days have been absolute shit as far as BF2 goes. I wind up in crappy servers, I play crappy, game crashes. Then finally when I'm having a good time, it crashes again...

But why would it start doing this all of the sudden? I haven't had a CTD since the last patch a long time ago.
And I've upped the RAM as much as I could, but the rest of my comp sucks. And yes I know my comp is out-of-date, I'm planning on saving some money and building a new one over the summer.

Well, i dont know, but the general cure-all is the dreaded reinstall. Im assuming you went through the CTD sticky, of course.. You could try emptying the cache etc....

hmmm.....I was sorta in the same situation yesterday.  I CTD so many times and finally, I got the BSOD.

I open my case and my ram were searing hot!  I put a fan there and problem fixed.  No CTD or BSOD.

uninstall-reinstall. Its not that hard and there are guides on here on how to do it. (Weird grammer)

Did you change any video settings/sound settings?

After I do, it crashes often.

No I didn't change anything at all.

But I think I was just having a bit of bad luck with servers or whatever. Played a lot more yesterday and everything worked fine.

Just keep your system cool. Thats a general rule of thumb. Maybe dust off a little bit if there's any in there. This is just preventive measure as well.

Dunno how much RAM you use, but my CTD problems were gone when I upgraded from 1Gb > 3Gb.

It also helps to clean out your C drive (run CCleaner & Diskeeper) and leave at least 3-4 Gb's open for use.

Thats what helped me at least.
