Ah, let Vilham be. The UK has enough to worry about with separatists gaining seats in Scotland! They're going to have to reinstate the voting rights of the House of Lords if they loose any more land.

In reply to "1." Now that we've established that you "have a girl" ask her if she'll let you kiss her (it can be one of the first steps to having relations with her).

and

"2." In my opinion . . . your opinions suck. No one brought up support of the IRA before you did (see post # 60), and yet all you do is accuse others of supporting them. That's not a rational conclusion (i.e. opinion) it's a delusion. And I respectfully ask that you give it a rest.

Thanks in advance.
Thank you for reinforcing my point that you cant have a relevant debate.

Man I have a hard enough time keeping up with whats going on "Up North" to even begin to understand the various parties agendas.
I would probably go with the Shinners as they are the only party loudly calling for a United Ireland. Most of the Irish parties just seam to kiss unionism ass while quietly taking a United Ireland out of their mandate, from were I am sitting anyways.

Well in that statement lies your pure unadulterated pigheadedness. Why would I condemn the killing of Iraqi civilians, etc. and then on the other hand endorse the killing of civilians in Northern Ireland. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever!!!!! IG isn't with me on this one but what you are confused with is the fact that I endorsed attacks on the British army and the British security apparatus in the north. That is all. Attacks on civilians - NO FUCKING WAY. I have principles ffs. You can selectively endorse acts carried out by a group of people you know. I supported their cause, not many of their henious actions. There is no real need for the IRA now as Catholics are beginning to experience the fruits of long-overdue parity of esteem and full civil rights. The growing catholic populace will finish the job of reunification off with their votes.

You can shove your respect up your ass - respect from someone so intransigently short-sighted as you isn't something to be boasted about.
I agree with Cameronpoe on the issue of targeting British military and security apparatus. The IRA were at war with Britain in the North during the troubles and these strategies were part of that war. I believe the IRA were fully justified in being at war with Britain due to the ways in which the British subjugated the Nationalist/Catholic population and on the principle of overthrowing their colonial oppressors but, like Cameronpoe, I fully condemn the slaughter of any innocent civilian no matter what their political or religious background in the same way I would condemn similar acts in other wars/conflicts around the world. Innocent civilians are never legitimate targets in any conflict.

I have always tried to stay out of these:) Just wanted to add:

SinnFein (despite my BF2s and BF2 name for almost what 2 years?) Sadly, now I wish I could change my BF2 name. Nowadays SF Is no more a political wing to the RA than the queen herself. Is there anyone that actually thinks our Fathers of 16 would have signed the GFA? so why the hell did  the so called 'provisionals'. Truthfully they've abandoned nearly every principle of my our fathers and beyond. Yas have seen Marty in the fancy uni? nothing more than a 'B' Special himself. He's got his post, savage and proper. power sharing my ass.....They've accomplished nothing but change the 10 year flavour to a different name, referendum blah blah. The thought of them even being associated with the RA disgusts me, What he did before the troubles earned him the place in the same sentence as the RA, but no longer.

Ruairi Ó Bradaigh, Daithi Ó Conaill and others walked out of that Ard Fheis and reconvened as Republican Sinn Féin. The Flyin' Provisionals just wanted the seat and got their fame and completely fucked us.

Tom Maguire,  the last 2nd  Dail Eireann,  recognised the Continuity Executive and the Continuity Army Council as the lawful Executive and Army Council respectively of the Irish Republican Army, and therefore possessing the governmental authority delegated by the faithful deputies of Dail Eireann in 1938.

My Point: SF is in no way shape or form a poli wing of the RA, they dont even know what it stands for anymore.

On the topic of Ireland's relevence to geopolitics:  If you can't see Ireland's relevence, you don't understand geopolitics.

This island has been a strategically important location since the 1700's.  It was a key location during the huge variety of wars across Europe, and there are plenty of occasions where an invasion of Ireland could have changed the balance of world history.  The Bonaparte Empire could still rule Europe if it wasn't for some bad weather off Bantry Bay.

Today, Ireland's location in the Atlantic means it's still a key strategic point.  As I type, the US military are using Irish airbases as important stop-off points for refuelling aircraft that have just crossed the ocean.

In the USA alone there are over 45 MILLION people who claim to be Irish or of Irish descent.  That means that what happens in Ireland can indeed affect what happens in the USA, because the Irish lobby is very strong.  The same can be said of the UK or Australia, there are Irish descended emmigrants all over the place, in huge numbers.

Ireland can be held up globally as an example of how a long-standing and seemingly unending terrorist struggle can come to a peaceful end.  Any government currently dealing in any way with ongoing terrorist campaigns can learn an awful lot from the Northern Ireland situation.

Ireland's economy over the last ten years has been the strongest in the world, growing faster than any other.  Finance ministers from all over come here just to see what it is we're doing right.

Stating that Ireland is insignificant in geopolitical terms is showing a gross ignorance of either the meaning of geopolitics or the realities of the the situation.

Going waaay back to the original post (and I do have a vote...)  I'll be casting my vote defensively.  Whatever I best judge keeps the extremists out of government.  That's Sinn Féin and their left-wing nut-jobbery which would drag us back to the dark ages, and the PD's with Grand High Fuhrer McDowell and his frankly ludicrous policies.  I guess Bertie's doing an alright job, and he's more of a politician than Enda Kenny, so that might decide the issue for me.

I think they current government is a waste, how much over budget was the Luas (tram) ? €500 Million-ish, like how can you be over budget by that amount.  Also bringing in Stamp duty on first time buyers, now they are fearing for their positions they decide to scrap the stamp duty.

As so putting a motorway through the Hill of Tara ? even thought it is an ancient historical site.

I think a new party in charge would be more inclined to make a lot of good changes rather than a load of tossers who sit back and try to keep their jobs.

i would like to vote sinn fein bit I reckon that Fine Gael need the vote more, (I think voting sinn fein would be like voting for Nader when Gore needed the vote)

Aye well your far enough away to come out with that hard line bullshit. The reality of this place and the reality of living here in the North is something I guess you have never experienced.
The IRA gave up their guns and disbanded. So why do we need a hard line political wing for an organisation which effectively doesn't exist.
The IRA & the shinners, both know we will get a united Ireland within the next 50 years. So instead of killing and ruining thousands of lives, they have decided to play the waiting game.

Don't fret however. The murderous bastards who killed Omagh's obvious enemy's to the 'republican cause' are forming a political wing, so you can follow them.

Its easy to be a hard liner when you live far away.

As for the Shinners being agents of the Queen now. Compromise is the only way forward. If your so passionate about republicanism, why didn't you hang around? Probably because there are better opportunities else were, peaceful. But the rest of us have to keep up the 'struggle' while you lord it up in a better economy while ours rots with hatred...................listen to yourself!!!

IG, read many of your posts and the like, always sound and good. You're right. I cannot and will not disagree with ya on this. Your right, these days, I may be a Corker, but I'm not in Cork anymore.  Now that I've re-read through, I sound like one of these bhoys over here that only wear green one day in March. I'm certainly not Looking for a claim here. It's just what's in me, twenty-six years living with a 2nd, my Da. It's all we knew. In his memory, he passed in 01. I just don't care for the RA being tied w/ SF as people know it (most don't know the diff between the Rep. and Provs). I could care less with the splinters, their 'letting on' and 'guff'. Civilians must NEVER be targeted, plain and simple.
