No shit.  He asked ME if I thought it was a big issue.
No, he asked if you thought it was a huge issue for your country and not is it an issue to you personally.  I'm pressuming Bubbalo is thinking about the other 299 million people that may want to go...

Is there some outcry for people to go to Cuba that I am unaware of?  It is a stupid law, but nobody I know really gives two shits one way or the other.

Cuba gets thousands of American tourists through Canada and Mexico - petty childish laws won't stop hardened travellers from getting to where they want to.

But you don't think that it's kind of a big deal that the US legislates where people can travel?

You only need to ban one country to be legislating travel.

Until you get all the old fat white Cold War relics out of the government, stuff like this will happen.

Like I said, I do not know one person (offline) who even cares about it, so I do not concern myself with it.

i guess its over the coup that happened there sometime last year.  Australia, New Zealand and the United States imposed it because of their non democratic gov't.  i dont know much, it didnt take me too long to find out information out there that the United States isnt the only evil empire restricting the freedoms of its citizens. evil.

the only thing the United States is missing out on from cuba is good baseball players, good cigars and good music.   at least thats my take. cuba is really a non issue in the states.

Every country has some restriction on where it's citizenry can go. You can't just waltz into every nook and cranny of a military base (surely that's true in Australia). I don't feel that my freedoms are in dire threat just because I can't go to Cuba.

Oh!, how I luv the lefties (as he lol).
It's a simple fact that anything said or done by anyone can be debated from the left or right - and probably will be.  However, distortion is another matter.  Maybe just do a little research, other than your emotions, on why Cuba has restrictions on it by the U.S. and other countries (note - restrictions have been enforced by all presidents since the restrictions were put in place).  Being from S. Florida I can tell you why over a million Cubans here support the restrictions - they know first hand...

The comments on "freedom" seem widely out of context and out of place based on the facts of U.S vs Cuba human rights.  Hint - we have freedom to choose and Cubans (widely) do not.  Our chosen government leaders voted for, support, and enforce our stance towards Cuba.  If Moore feels he's above the people and the their elected officials, or even the law, then let him get what he's asking for.  I personally have no issue with the people of Cuba and if they're anything like their relatives here then I would say (generally speaking) they would be some of the nicest people you will meet.  Question for you - Why did Moore chose Cuba?

Back on topic - Moore knowingly did what he did!  In this case it's fair to assume that he wants the attention and knew the laws, and had someone whisper legal advice in his deaf ear.  I feel he should get an equal amount of attention by the government that he is generating for himself.  As for the laws being petty or childish - well then again it was CameronPooh that said it - Pooh does tend to be so far left that if it was measured in degrees he would be 359 degrees to your left - that would put him right behind you - that's scary     BTW - congrats on the hall of shame club

As far as the report, and I use that word very loosely, that more resources are being used on investigating Moore's self centered and anti-American actions with a hostile government is just another distortion and are meant to appeal to certain people's emotions.  The Moore investigation needs to be transparent whereas terrorist investigations should not be - for obvious reasons.  I guess making stuff fit your agenda rather than dealing with the facts and circumstances justifies the means.

I've said too much (even for me),
Kaboom.

Kindly expand upon why the embargo with Cuba is so necessary? I didn't quite get it other than that Cubans have first hand experience as to why it's needed.

You are just going to have to accept the fact that until Castro is dead, the ban will continue.

I was actually interested in what his reasoning behind why it was so necessary was, not when it would stop.

i think you misjudge the average American's view of Cuba.  nobody I know thinks of cubans as baddies.  remember it was the liberal allstar kennedy who placed the embargo.
Not to mention the fact that if they didn't authorize the Bay of Pigs, and also supposedly try to poison the guy, he may have never allowed the nukes in Cuba.

a military base is a little different though, theres no real legitimate reason to go to a military base (or at least more than one of them)
whilst with countries theres the culture to go experiance and soak up. They arn't real cuban cigars unless you got them from cuba yourself are they. She isn't a real shemale unless shes from thailand is she. It's not a real spider bite unless its an australian spider bite is it. etc etc etc...
