I would think the fan motor would quit with the added drag from oil.
I’d switch to Dial-ax insulating oil. cheaper, looks cooler. Maybe add some other hi dielectric strength, non blending fluid for cool lava lamp blobs. I might actually try this. I will send pix when my house burns down.

yeah, mineral oil. They showed that on Fox 5 (local news) around here, and how they put it in the sprinkler system so it won't kill the millions of dollars worth of news equipment.

Pretty cool! One of the best case mods I've seen in a long time.

I like it. I always wanted a fish tank inside an old TV, but this is much better. It'd be cool if you put another divider in the front and had that full of fish (with water not oil obviously). Also, I think they had too many bubbles.

Weird how mineral oil doesn't affect electronics, but water does.
I found out why from a website:

Nothing, mineral oil is an insulator. This means it has no effect on electronic equipment. Gotta love chemistry and physics. It doesn't spoil, it doesn't smell, and it is absolutely crystal clear and has the appearance of water.

Some dude in the APC magazine in Aus connected his pool heating system to his computer. It cooled the computer and made the pool water about 0.001 degree warmer. Plus the people in the mag did something similar, to make the worlds most OCed PC or something for Guiness world record, but failed.

2800 is very low for a C2D 6600 and an 8600 that should score around 4-5000+ the 2800 he saw was prob just the cpu score.
