had an idea today while playing wake and i deliberately rammed my van into a plane which was about to take off from the airfield.

i was playing on the chinese side and we had just taken back the airfield, but there were still some USMC soldiers hiding around the area. suddenly i see one making a run for the plane. i couldnt kill him with bullets as he was in the distance and just about to get into the jet. so i quickly jump into my van and speed up down the runway for a head on collision with the jet. I am thinking to myself that i dont want a USMC taking our jet now we have the airfield as this ould be a major disadvantage. so i kill myself to benefit the team.

i rammed into the jet, blowing it up killing myself and the bad guy. however, he got the kill for it. Now i think it would be a nice idea if EA managed to include sacrifice points in future updates. I go out of the way to help the team out by killing myself but really i do not get any credit for it.

dont think it would be to hard to include this in the game cause it would just be a matter of "if i get killed while killing a jet taking off from my teams airfield, then i get points for a sacrafice if i kill the enemy while doing it and taking out the jet which they have just nicked.

what do u think BF2s Forum Users?

No, cuz all n00b tubers would get it because they usually kill themselves in the blast.

well the noob tubers are gone in the next patch, so that fixes that doesnt it? but it would greatly increase the suicide rate.... which is annoying as is

how would the engine see if u made the sacrifice and not your opponent. to the engine there is no difference between a guy in a jeep trying to stop a plane or a guy in a plane trying to stop a jeep.

I think that if you kill yourself when killing a tank/apc/heli/plane, you should get a ribbon.

To encourage you to not survive? I prefer to live, look better in the stats too

While its an interesting idea, there already are badges for killing things, like ground defence or the explosives ordinance badge or anti-tank etc...

I can see where your coming from but as Gawwad said, the game is about surviving and helping your team in the process.  There already are awards out there but for sacrificing your life in a game?  Nah, dont think EA would like that.

50cal on the jeep would have raped the jet taking off if you can shoot it

yeah suppose it would have. but my instinct was just to ram the plane as i didnt want the enemy taking our plane.

as for how would the engine know if it was van into plane or plane into van?

well it should just judge depening on if the plane is on which base. that way if the plane is on the chinese base with an american pilot being rammed by a chinese player in a vehicle then the points go to the chinese player.

and i know the point of the game is to stay alive, but just think in a situation like that then i should have got points. As for the purple heart, that badge is only there to encourage really rubbish players to try harder!! if they are rubbish and know they are, but then suddenly get a medal, then they are going to get a buzz and maybe play better.
