hey guys, i have an EVGA 7800gtx (256-P2-N538-AX) and i am having a very tough time finding a second one so i can hook them up in SLI. I understand that the model number does not have to have the "AX" in it (it can be different) for it to be compatible with mine, but the other part of the model number have to be the same. If any of you could help, i would very much appreciate it.
i looked at that and it did not have the same model number as mine, so it wouldnt be compatible with mineHavok wrote:

It's currently out of stock though.
For the price that it is just buy the 7950 gt with 512mb. Same price and a little bit better performance.
The model numbers don't have to be the same, just the GPU. You could buy any other 7800GTX and it would work in SLi with yours:ceslayer23 wrote:

2) Mixing Cards: You can use a GeForce 7800 GTX from manufacturer ABC with a GeForce 7800 GTX from manufacturer XYZ. However, you must still use two graphics cards that have the same GPU. For example, a GeForce 7800 GT must be matched with another GeForce 7800 GT (not with a GeForce 7800 GTX or a GeForce 6800 Ultra). Likewise, you cannot mix the GeForce 7800 GTX 512 with the GeForce 7800 GTX.
thanks so much. karma on the wayThe Stillhouse Kid wrote:
