Thanks guys for all your kind words.

Simon died of liver cancer at the young age of 43. He had a hard life but always had a smile and kind word for everyone he meet.

He truly was a great man, we will all miss him.

Simon was a Blackfoot Indian,

We meet in grade school. Back then, I was weak and a constant target of bullying and beatings.

On day, after school, 3 bullies, decieded to get me a beating. As usually, I pleaded to no avail and ended up getting a good beating. But this time, Simon showed up. As I laid on the ground, dirt and tears clouding my vision, I saw Simon appear. He grabbed the first guy, and flipped him head first into the ground. Simon then dropped the second guy with a powerful punch and the third bully just run off. Simon picked me up, talked to me, and we became best friends. my days of being bullied were over with Simon at my side. He truely was a great friend, taught me about honor and integrity.

As time went on we parted ways. Simon went back to the reserve and I went to University, graduated and started my construction business. Several years later, almost 10, I took a crew of men to the Hotel bar for an after work drink. I saw Simon there. My heart was broken, we was dirty, drunk and did not look well at all. As my men drank and chatted, I stared at Simon as he walked out the door. A couple of clowns that had been giving Simon a hard time followed him out. I knew, deep down, that something was going to happen.

I followed, only to see the clowns pushing Simon around, shouting racial slurs. As I walked towards them, one of them punched Simon in the face and he went down, I was outraged, my blood boiled as I ran towards them. "leave him alone", I yelled. They laughed as they kicked Simon. I approached the first idiot, and kicked him in the chest ( years of martial arts training kicked in). The second clown got a devestating punch to the face. As the clowns laid on the ground screaming in pain, I went to over Simon. He smiled as I helped him up, "Good to see you", he said, with a smile. I didn't say anything. I helped him into a cab, shoved some cash into his pockets. I just stared in silence as the cab drove him back to the reserve.

Three weeks later, today, I got notice that he died.
Sorry

No, Simon was my best friend in grade school. He never even owned a computer.
