The title says it all. What was the first map you ever played on multiplayer, and what do you remember about it?

My first map (under the name cowami) was Road to Jalalabad. I got stuck on the USMC while we were being uncap raped. Eventually we broke out and pushed all the way to the Outpost CP. I got my first badge that day, Basic Sniper Combat.

EDIT: My first real round was when I tested the game at the DigitalLife electronics convention in New York. It was Dragon Valley, actually. From what I remember, we (the USMC) were boxed in to the Market, and I sat in the TOW, trying to blow stuff up, not knowing that TOW missiles were guided. I also spent 10 minutes trying to figure out how I could get into vehicles. The round right after that was Sharqi, and involved the Havok dropping out of the sky in front of me, and the pilot saying "Get in!"

No idea. My first multiplayer round was almost two years ago (7/22/05) and I just don't remember much about it.

I still remember it.
It was mashtuur, soon 2 years ago. I love sniping so i choosed a svd and headed with a friend for the highest building on the map. When we got up, a blackhawk came against us (they were good then) and started shooting us. I aimed and just shot one shot, then the guy fell from the heli to the ground - dead. One second later we got artillery on our heads and flew high in the sky. Damn that was intense!

I started my first game with Wake.  The USMC had taken every CP but the beach landing and I was on the Chinese team.  It was such a mess when I spawned for the first time I was blown away by artillery fire after 1/2 a second.  I remember this was the patch before the weird dead body animations were fixed, so that bodies were sticking up out of the ground and were bent into really akward positions.  My 2nd spawn I managed to run into the water and watched as my 32 person team was blown away over and over again by spawncampers and artillery.  I looked at my map and noticed that I was the only one alive.  Everyone else spent the rest of the game being spawnkilled without moving 10 feet while I watched from the water.

Besides playing the demo, I think Strike at Karkand was my first map. I loved being an engineer and everyone tended to vehicle whore and I racked up the repair points. I think I was on US and we whored and pwned the map in about 5 mintues.

Thats a good way to begin your bf2 career, a headshot with the SVD on someone in a helicopter. Nice man.

My first round was at Karkand and I had no idea what the hell was going on. I could not shoot a moving target to save my life, and even if they were laying still and didn't even know I was there, I still had a hard time. I have evolved from then now and can make some pretty nifty kills.

My first round was on FuShe Pass. My computer was lagging like crazy because I had settings on medium (I can only handle low ) I only had a gig of RAM and I was running iTunes because I thought it was a game I could listen to music to while playing. Needless to say I kept dying and lagging and couldn't even ride in a car. It was frustrating.

First multiplayer was Golf of Oman, because that was all that was available in the demo. Don't remember a bit of it because it was two years ago.

My first map I ever played, bar Gulf of Oman from the demo, was Daqing Oilfields. I instantly fell in love with the map as the guille suits for the snipers blended well, and there was a large amount of armor to go around for nearly everyone.

Haha I'd also like to say that geez cowami you must love feeling nostalgic considering you first started playing just a few months ago!

I've been at it off and on for only a year and a half now, and even that's not a very long time compared to most of the people here. ...hey, isn't it about to be BF2's second birthday? PARTAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

I scored 4 kit medals and a Gold Star on my first round. It was a Sharqui server.

I'm pretty sure it was Dragon Valley (32).  I spent the whole round on the TOW at the Village TOW-sniping anything that came up the road.

after 2 years and 10,000+ rounds all I remember is that it was the Oman demo and I loved the cobra from the moment I saw it.

Joining a game and realising an X300 and 512mb of ram can not play on high, artifacted and nearly stopped playing cause the 'graphics were shit'.

When I got it working though: I was on karkand, spawned at gas station and trecked all the way up to the city, dodging friendly APC's and flinching when arty landed near me. It was lol.

I don't remember, honestly.  I do remember my K/D after my first day of BF2 (and I played for hours on end) was 0.58.  It took me literally a year to break even

I was used to playing Raven Shield where the sniper rifles are awesomely accurate, so when I joined Jalalabad and couldn't hit sh1t with my M24 I thought the game was crap.
Took me a few months to get my KDR over 1 after that!

me and and my friends were playing at a LAN center and they told me to type in jalalabad for the map name and i was like "lol what?". so we played jala i got like 3 kills and about 15 deaths, i only played spec ops coz of their scope which i thought was cool, then it was mashtuur i climbed up the building near backyard with my friend (his first time to) so we got up there and were like w00t i got like 2 kills then we both got shot we then complained about how we shouldnt have been killed or some shit then we played counter strike, went on a server without VAC and got confused at the hackers then played bf2(repeat)
