Ok bought and installed my new X1950GT today.

Problem is, the fan is LOUD, and from reviews i've seen that I need to update the bios...

Ive located the BIOS on the net http://www.sapphiretech.com/en/support/ … ewlist.php

Now, i've looked and ive looked all over the net but... HOW DO I INSTALL THEM?!

Click your BIOS type. It's a .zip file, so it'll download, then you have to use WinRAR, or some other extracting program and extract the files. Then install them.

Yeah no shit.

Ive extracted it, but a .004 file means jack all to me.

HOW do I install them is what I asked.

There's a program you'll need to get to be able to flash the card's BIOS:

Here's a step-by-step guide to GPU BIOS flashing:

If you're flashing the BIOS just to slow down the fan for lower noise, you'd be better off buying a replacement fan like a Zalman VF900.

Finally an answer

Its basically a generic problem with this card when its bought, and I just need to install these, I just didnt know how.
