Starting A Server

Hey guys, I need your help.
A couple of my friends from school just started a new clan, and we are thinking about getting our own server. We are pretty poor, so we are definately going to get just a 16-player slot server, but play 64 player maps. None of us have owned our own server before, but we would like to try it.

So here is where I/we need your help. We really have no idea on what map rotation we should have. We want air maps, but I dont know if those would get populated very often. Please help us out and give us some suggestions on map rotation. And also, if you own a server, why did you pick that particular server company? Thanks in advance.

If you want air maps be sure to at least put "Air" in your server name so that the air fanboyz can search and find easily.

I part own WOoKie wake 42 player server. It's been full since i bought it!

You definatley need to go with one map 24/7. Karkand 16 size would fill but you want aircraft, Wake island is always a safe bet.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking about mostly Chinese air maps and I will surely place "Air" in the server description.

Edit: I was trying to stay away from Karkand, but if I have to, I will put it in there to get people to join.

Second best would be 64 size Songhua Infantry Only and make 2nd accounts and give them reserved slots so only 3v3 is allowed. That would be the best.

Air-maps, 16 players... well, I'd suggest

Wake (seems to attract the flyboys, good as starting map, only beaten by Karkand IO (which is gay ))
Oman 32 (don't use 64 for such a small server, there will be more flags than people on the ground )
(maybe) Clean sweep 32

That's how i would do it... Dragon Valley or Fushe are pretty cool maps, but they are a bit boring with few people...

64 air maps with 16 slots suck... try to get some more paying members and start a server with some more slots... otherwise you have 10 guys flying and only six ground targets -> boring

Yep, that sucks. Or Clean Sweap 16 player, atleast don't go in big maps with that less players, too less action and there are too much vehicles.

I deffinately agree with the 24/7 one map.
Personally when I find a server, I choose based on my mood and badge I'm going for. All my faves are 24/7 one map.
But I don't think another Wake server is the way forward, you want to find a niece market, do a 24/7 map that isn't already done, that way you'll be assured the fans of that map.

(PS. don't do Zatar tho, there's a reason there arn't ANY 24/7 zatar servers
