What a useless reply. Why you wanna compare consoles with PC's anyway? Not everyone got thousands of pounds to spend every year to upgrade a processor or GFX. You will be able to play game's console on their maximum potential; assuming you got HDTV.  And are you sure they are already out of date? People need to think before they post!
I highly doubt they are out of date.  I played Gears of War recently and the graphics are way better than any PC graphics I have seen so far.  Then again i've never played on a computer with anything higher than my X1650PRO.

well, just take a look at crysis for example. It has the best graphics I have ever seen in a game. really amazing what todays newest gfx technology can do (DX10).

CPU: Triple core 3.2ghz IBM Custom CPU. 1 MB L2 Cahce

PC: Quad cores are out and Oct-core in the very near future (Phenom FX etc.) The C2E QX6700 has 8MB L2 Cache. Even the C2D's have 4 MB.

GFX: A Chip between ATI's R500 and R600, with the performance closing to the R600's end. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360#Hardware)

PC: 8800 GTX's and Ultra pwn the crap out of the R600 and the G90 and R700 are out soon. PC's can also run SLI or crossfire.

RAM: 512MB of GDDR3 at 700Mhz.

PC: Blow me, the 2900XTX uses 1GB of GDDR4 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeon_R600) . The GTX has 768MB of GDDR3. System RAM for the PC are now coming at 1066mhz+.

HDD: 20GB

PC: 1TB (Hitachis new HD)

Media Support: DVD-Video, DVD-ROM, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD-DA, CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, WMA CD, MP3 CD, JPEG Photo CD

PC: Easily, we can even run two of them at the same time with two Disc Drives. HD-DVD and Blu-Ray Drives are out. We can also watch it form our HDD without putting the disc in.

I/O: 3 USB 2.0 Ports

PC: My case alone has 2, back panel has 10 or something.

Pixel Fill Rate:  16 gigasamples per second fillrate using 4X MSAA

PC: Able to do up to 16xAnti-Aliasing and 16 x Antistrophic Filtering. SLI and Crossfire enables Super AA (up to 32x). Nvidia's newest Quadro-Plex VCS can produce up to 64x AA. (http://www.nvidia.com/page/quadroplex_c … chart.html)

Sounds fair. Curbs some cheats. I wonder how many 360's will find their way to unwitting second-hand counters?

You and all the other "consoles suck" kids need to realize this: Your uber-leet console-killing machine costs four times as much as a 360 does. With a 360 I'll have plenty of cash left over for an HD DVD/Blu Ray player, a nice 1080p HDTV, and a nice audio system.

But that's down to the game more than anything. 360's have very mediocre graphics cards.

I love consoles, because it's a flat charge. By that I mean, I don't have to go running around to buy new components every time the next best thing comes around. There is a standard setup for consoles, which puts all players on an even keel (disregarding HDTVs, of course).

Oblivion is problely the best example of how PC's are greater then consoles.

As you might know the graphics on PC and Xbox360 are exactly the same when you buy the game, but with over 1000 free Mods for the game the amount of extra content available is huge.

From texture modifications to more realistic water, to better armour custom houses and one of my favorite, the companion mods that let you have a human or animal that follows you around that you can give them better armour wepons.

But then again aside from the gaming aspect of the console and the PC, the PC can do soo much more, you can edit and creat movies. Store your entire music collection and do some work.

I also mush prefer the Mouse and keyboard aproach to games, with only one exception.

Racing games are forever console teritory for me, i cannot stand PC racing games, yet with consoles it feels natural.

BTW texture comparison for XBOX360 vs PC for oblivion.

He's right, consoles ftl. Have you ever seen a PC that has been banned? lol, thought not.
LOL at the though. PC being banned.
*cough* Hardware ban from PB anyone? *cough* Not a full ban but well...sucks enough for those who get it!

And just dont mess with PC/Console..If the company say you CANT mod it...DONT do it or just pay the price and shut the f up!

That's not the cause. The cause is hacked DVD-ROM firmware allowing "backup" games to be played.

It does sound like that from the error message though. I can see why you might think it was some sort of firewall/NAT thingy.

Microsoft is being a little bitch at the moment. What's with only releasing Halo 2 for Windows Vista? It's unprecedented, (isn't it?) that something has been released specificly for phasing out an old operating system.

And yeah, Consols suck, especially FPS games. I can't aim with that shitty little joystick. Consols should only be used for side-scrolling fighting games.

Part of the "backup" excuse problem is due to the game industry's own lack of warranty for damaged or corrupted media. Usually, the most you can do is hope that the store you bought it at will still trade you for another. Beyond their limit, you're screwed. Now some companies will replace damaged products. Most others will not, preferring to force you to buy replacement copies well under what should be an acceptable warranty period. Thus, some people take it upon themselves to make copies of their games or, if they don't have the technical skill, download copies, assisting (in the case of torrents) honest piracy.

The industry stabs itself in the back.

Luckily, Microsoft doesn't have control over the internet to where you could be banned from access to the web for playing a backup of a scratched-up out-of-print disc from 1998.

Not really. For an example, Nintendo 64, when it was released it used a 64-bit arcitechture and an about 100MHz CPU combined with a 8MB graphics card and 55MB RAM. When it was released, it was more like PC's was N64 wannabes. In 1996, the majority of PC's ran at 16-bit arcitecture. The newest generations of consoles though, has changed this a bit... PC's have surpassed consoles in the matter of performance, but still, miost of you know how slow it goes to emulate even a PSX or N64. In fact, the N64 can still beat many modern computers. And you don't have to install all games and take care of driers, viruses and spyware on most consoles. Consoles are made for gaming and gaming only.

They're made for simplicity, unlike PC's.

Think before you say!
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

For four times the price, you get more than fore more things you can do with a computer :

360: Games?

PC: Games, surf the net, video editing, store your pictures and look at em, listen to music, talk on forums, play MMO-Games, show off your 3Dmark scores and many many more...

And with a PC, upgrading is very very possible, maybe spend a little cash every 1 1/2 years? upgrading your GFX or CPU or RAM or something
