Subject correction: How do you change the CD-key of SF in the account of both BF2 and SF?
It seems to be invalid and I keep getting the invalid message, is there a way to change the cdkey but re-installing SF?

EDIT: thanks

Yes I can ! You just gave a comment about my "yes"-answer so I must have been able to answer...BLAAH...OK..
I have the same problem...that's why I wrote only "YES".

You can change the key with a file named "Battlefield 2 Special Forces_code.exe".
It should be inside "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\SupportXP1"-folder.
I have it there.

I have done that change-procedure several times but this "extremely well programmed" shit still begs the same..
Little by little this crap starts to yawn, even me....
Usually when some software makes me yawn twice, I gently remove the CD from my shelf and add it to my beautiful (it really is..like a rainbow) weathervane.

And exactly posting number 12 -->

That works.

(I found that same from EA:s helpmaze last night..and it really works..)

Easier solution
Run C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\Support\Battlefield 2_code.exe

Well well...this shit just continues...

I have now played SF about 3 weeks after THE SECOND time I repaired the key problem.  Now it's back...

And this time NONE of those advices will do any difference. I can play BF2 but NOT SF. Wrong CD-shit...

This game is bullshit.

LoL...I run regedit before EA informed their "solution for the problem"...

I keep my hw+software in shape by doing, for example, registry cleaning and defragmenting 2 times/week minimum.
I have tried all EA:s + some more "solutions" to this problem...no luck.
I have no time to dig deeper these kind of unfinished demos. I think that's EA:s job to do...

Clear thing is that those dudes can not code proper software..
