A wall only does so much, if they're determined enough they will get in. The issue needs to be addressed on a deeper level than just "putting up walls."
Better yet, put a few Taco Bells in the middle..... or maybe a McDonalds..... that way they can get something to eat too....Major_Spittle wrote:
You know they would just fish out the sharks and sell them back too us as sea food when they cross the border.
I am for a good old fashion mine field that is 500 yards wide, we could put water stations in the middle of it to keep the ACLU and Liberals off our backs for not looking out for their well being.
What.. They're just going to stand there while some unknown person(s) are shooting at them when it could cost them their lives? The border patrol gets shot at by Mexican gangsters, smuggelers, and other people who want them dead all of the time. 100% kid's fault.usmarine2005 wrote:
But that is why there is hesitation about the military.Deadmonkiefart wrote:
"A group of U.S. Marines was surveying the border near an 18-year-old boy herding goats. It was nighttime and dark, and not knowing who they were or why they were, the young man shot at the four Marines. The Marines returned fire, killing him. The death of Ezekiel Hernandez, Jr. is still remembered near El Paso, and some residents are fearful of the consequences when the guard is deployed."
This sounds to me like the kid's fault. What would the border patrol have done any differently than the military? It's really dark, they can't see, and suddenly they are being shot at. What else are they going to do but shoot back? And furthermore, who was the idiot who reported this story, acting as though it proved a point?
Marines receive fire = return fire.
Border Patrol receives fire = Hesitation.
But the fast food would just lure fat Americans into the mine field, the Mexicans have no $$$$Canin wrote:

No..it was not.Deadmonkiefart wrote:

They could stop the fat Americans from eating there by putting a couple of them before the mine field. As for the no money issue, who says they have to charge them for the food, it could be like a welcoming gift.....
Yes, concrete walls 50 feet high, with built in vibration detection, and on a 10 degree slant towards mexico so it makes it even harder to scale because you cant put a later up against it.Major_Spittle wrote:

Mexican Migrants walk near sign reading in Spanish 'Danger, inhabited area', as they walk to the U.S.- Foxnews
And they are too lazy to jump the fence and instead are going under it. We should look for better quality in our fence hoppers.
All the way down the mexican border.
Put some tight ass security at the few opens ports there are, and have some intimedating armed gaurds.
Problem solved
15 more years! 15 more years!

But we would have to use illegals to work at the fast food joints because no Amercan would ever work there. Do you think they would turn on themselves like that???? Maybe a Wal-Mart would be more practical, we could afford the colateral damage because most the people that shop at Wal-Mart look like aliens from the Canteena in Star Wars anyway.Canin wrote:

It is not about blame. I brought it up because my old ass was there. Neither side is to blame, it was just one of those things. Both sides were right, and both sides were wrong.Deadmonkiefart wrote:

Yes, but the article suggests that the military-border patrol was somehow at fault.usmarine2005 wrote:

A Walmart might work.... But again, who would work it. Here is how you set up the Resturants though, build them first, populate them with workers, put a few small homes around them, and then in the dark of night, a few weeks after business is picked up, you go out and plant the mines..... then KABOOM!!!!Major_Spittle wrote:

The fucked up thing is, you cannot blame the kid 100%. But you cannot blame the jarheads 100%.Deadmonkiefart wrote:

My point is, you cannot have people trained to fight war protecting a US border...unless you specifically train them to do so.
You want to build a community that is based on a Taco Bell? It would never work because when ever you see a Taco Bell there is shopping somewhere near. Do they put Taco Bells in Wal-Marts? I have seen communities built around Wal-Marts.Canin wrote:

Ok, build a small community with a few strip malls and a few fast food joints, then plant the mines..... then....KABOOM!!!!
Can't have any Wendys because they stay open late and would see the people laying mines. No fancy strip malls either because then Americans would want to work thier and the Americans missing limbs from trying to leave would be bad PR.Canin wrote:

Fine, fine.... A walmart and a burger king...... then can we plant the mines?????
Let's just put up signs all along the border saying, "If you come into our country, you get a free Super Taco Delivery (STD)"
No, all they will see is Taco and flock over faster.....

I stood in line for four hours. They better give me a Wal-Mart gift card, or something. - Rodney Booker, Job Fair attendee.
What??? Who shot at who first? Who's soil was this goat herder on? meh... I don't know more than what I read and from what I read the soldiers didn't fire first -they returned fire. I guess they shouldn't have been following orders to survey or give guns in the first place either. I'd like to think that if someone started shooting at me from mexico, then I'd fire back in self defense.usmarine2005 wrote:

If you've got more info on this story, PM me with it (if you like). I'd love to know more about the situation.

The boy feared them to be goat wranglers. Big problem when tending goats on Broke Back Mountain Mexico.DBBrinson1 wrote:
