How to change Windows Log-on Screen?

Hello all my tech savvy friends,

I was wondering if anybody here can tell me/put together a guide on how to manually change the Windows (XP) log-on screen to any type of image. Can it be done? I've installed a program called Log-on Loader and it works good, but I don't like having more programs then I need boot up with XP. So any tips??

StyleXP has boot screens (the black VGA Windows logo), and LoginUI options as well. You should find shedloads of themes on DeviantArt.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I am trying to get this to work on my laptop. I downloaded Wincustomize's Logon Studio but it hasn't worked. I tried various themes. And I STILL have that shitty light blue XP log on.... I guess I can try what you suggested also after dinner

there was a program i used to have on my old machine, but i cant recall the name. boost xp, or something along those lines......ill boot up the old machine later if i get time to hook it up.

I've used LogonStudio in the past, and it works fine for me. Shame it doesn't work for you, it was really nice.

Ya its weird...It works for my PC, but it does not work on my Laptop...I guess I might be downloading the wrong screens...But they all show up in the Log-on chooser. I click one and hit apply but it still does not work.

Find a program called "StyleXP" it fuckin pwns you can change SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH including the boot screen and lots of skins for xp

Alright I'll google it thanx. I'm so sick of seeing this ugly blue screen when I log onto my laptop in public. I look so old school.

Come to think of it, is there a way I can lose the log on screen completely? I guess its better not to, seeing it has wifi, and it would make my laptop vulnerable...I think
