I wonder what those flyers said. Nevertheless, it is strange that women / girls would in engage in "hate crimes" ( for lack of a better term ) against gays. From what I can tell, females are usually more sympathetic towards gays than males are. Maybe that's because they have kind of the same mindset, I don't know...
That's why I think what happened is more an expression of the ongoing feud between one of the girls and one of the gay boys, rather than a "hate crime". That was also implied in the article, I think.
But with America being the overly politically correct and bigot nation it is, everyone is making a huge deal about this.

Where the exact cross species of SIV to HIV came from is unknown, but there are a few theories out there.
As for the 'AIDS is man made' conspiracy theory, it would be more accurate to say the "HIV is man made" conspiracy theory. And believe me, there are lots of them.

Obviously, your site, your rules, and I have no knowledge of Spittle's behaviour outside of this thread. I just don't think that a simple joke about a breakfast cereal (which doesn't even sell here in Ireland, as it happens) really warrants a banning.
Back on topic: I don't particularly like thinking about men getting it on with men either, but I've no problem with them doing so in the privacy of their own homes. I'd guess that those girls acted on the basis of what's been drilled into them by their parents and other authority figures in their lives.

I imagine those girls went with the flyers not because they hated the fact he was gay but because they just didn't like the guy personally and it was an good excuse (if extreme) to have a go, most arguments i've ever had with women wind round to something about me that is completely unrelated but can non the less be used against me.

I think that the news story has no news in it considering the contents of the flyer is never mentioned, just the reporters slant on the injustice of their arrest through the quotes from the girl's lawyer.
