Team: USMC
Map:   Strike at Karkand
CP:     Square

Scencario: The USMC owned the CP and we were being pinned down by MEC APCs and tanks from distance. The enemy vehicles were on the road that runs N/S immediately east of the flag (just past that big hole in the road).

Description of Event:  To put fire on the enemy vehicles I switched to the AT kit and climbed the tall building at the square. I got a few shots off before I was killed. I respawned and immediately re-climbed the building. In the heat of the moment I did not respond quickly enough to the "pretty Easter egg prize" my squad-mate left me at the top of the ladder and I was teamkilled.

Now, I am not one to punish. I know that's hard to believe, but it's true. There. I've said it. But in my haste I accidently did punish this particular player. He of course immediately goes into this stupid and tired tirade about how I'm a noob and I'm an idiot and I shouldn't be allowed to reproduce, etc, etc, blah blah blah.

I said nothing in return and simply left the squad, not wishing to have any trouble. Last thing I need is an entire "friendly" squad chasing me around the map.

But. Now I'm pissed.

You STUPID M*$#^@%-F&$^@%$^ !!! WHAT KIND OF IDIOT ARE YOU TO SPAWN AS A SNIPER, CLIMB TO THE NEAREST TALL BUILDING TO A FLAG OUR TEAM OWNS -- WHILE PINNED DOWN BY ENEMY FIRE -- AND DROP A CLAYMORE ON THE LADDER?  WHAT THE HELL DID YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN?  ARE YOU SO F*%$$#ING STUPID THAT YOU CAN'T SEE TWO SECONDS INTO THE FUTURE AND HOW YOUR DUMBASS BRIGHT IDEAS ARE GOING TO AFFECT YOUR TEAMMATES?  YOU SHOULD GET A REFUND AND SEND ME YOUR MONEY FOR WASTING MY TIME AND PATIENCE YOU INCOMPETENT M*^#$%#%-F^#%%@#

Point is, I've seen this happen many times by noob and experienced players alike. It's time that all you idiots who insist on playing the sniper kit start thinking like human beings ON A TEAM instead of stupid, monkey-brained-smacktards whacking a pleasure button. I hate you, I hate you, I hate you and will hunt every last one of you and spit on your stupid, dead, virtual corpses, you stupid, stupid people.

Go to hell.

Wow man, don't hold back.  Tell us how you really feel?

But in all seriousness, I also dislike people who are glued to a single kit, rather than spawing as a kit needed to win a particular situation.

Why would someone think that blocking off a possible exit/avenue of attack would help the team?  Was the enemy coming from his own base?  What a smacktard...

we arent all that bad...

sniper is my favorite kit but i also play all the others fairly well too.  the best thing i can think of to help a squad as a sniper would be to kill the gunner on a humvee or vodnik etc.  they tend not to move and the squad now has a free vodnik

YES, that's what I'm talking about. If you're going to snipe, then be intelligent about it. Help the team. Don't just sit your damn water tower randomly killing people. That doesn't REALLY move the team forward.

-- Spetz -- stop talking. You're an idiot. I have never complained about this before. In fact this is the first thread I've ever started. jeez, just shut up.

Well, thank god for the new patch then...right Citizen!  You can ask the sniper to pick up his/her rear security (claymore) so you climb up and use the roof top.  Just curious though...I always check the tops of ladders...and usually...the skull in red ensures I use caution.  Instead of flaming a sniper who was trying to assist infantry and defend a flag that was possibly about to be overrun...you should start using more caution and common sense......instead of just assuming since you just died on the rooftop that it is still clear for your use......how dare someone else use it for something different than you had in mind....and then get you killed on top of it.....how dare they.  I find it hard to believe after reading your immature post that you punished this sniper by accident.  LOL.  Did you even think to thank the sniper for probably shooting the individual that killed you 15 seconds prior.  LOL.

As an only sniper guy, how could you not see the red square with the skul and bones? or in the other case (planted claymore by enemy), how could you not see the green little claymore? I always look at the ladders for any of that. Yea it's a piss when you get killed by a claymore you "didn't" saw. But think of the sniper who left it there, he intended to protect himself for any coming knife killers.

But yea, when you capture any point by rule (I apply it to me) you never ever put claymore in ladders, you should always put one in the case when enemy captures your sniping point right above a flag to protect yourself and fellow squad members so that you can throw some nades below and try to make way to incoming team members.

Sadly most snipers don't play it with common sense but also many team members don't realize that snipers tend to be lonewolves (I usually like to be squad leader to sneak a good spawning point to my fellow squad members) and put claymores to protect themselves. I don't know how much time you have played sniper but when you are scoping to spot enemies (another rule for snipers that most don't do) you sometimes forget to take a look in the minimap and write to your team that your spot is claymored (I always do that but n00bs have claymore magnets).

I reckon it's natural to feel like that. However, I ask you to read my topic on how not to die by Claymores.

uh.. I explained it exactly as it happend, so whatever.
Secondly, the issue at hand is snipers need to take more care and forethought about when/where they use a claymore. I already explained that it was my fault for walking into it. The "punish" WAS an accident. I only regretted it until he went ballistic.

I think placing claymores on cranes, water towers and other buildings are totally acceptable and justifiable (and appearently so do the others here). But a building on the CP that we own, c'mon, that's just a little too much. Plus, what is a sniper going to do against hardend vehicles? Nothing.

Are you SURE he hadn't been there since before you capped it?  I have managed to get up there a few times while the place was crawling with enemy...and of COURSE I throw down a claymore.

We were under heavy fire. We were NOT being overrun in that moment ( the game ended litterally seconds after this episode). The MEC team was busy with other spawn sites our team had taken also.

Please. The point is, if you are a sniper that is punished for a teamkill, there are times when your actions are partially to blame. Stay focused here. I know I committed a terrible sin by climbing up this ladder into his claymore, but when in the heat of the moment trying to fight off an attack, a single player's personal defense, and that is what it is, does not come before a squad's <team's> attemtp to save a CP.

I was cool about it, but the guy wouldn't even let me explain. And he certainly didn't want to hear my side of the story, which is what this post is about. I hate snipers, but that's another post. If you're going to do it and use claymores, just be more considerate when you use them! Hey, structures off of the CP are cool! CP's... no, you shouldn't do that until you know you are being overrun. As in this case you are hurting the team. That's all I'm saying.... while I vent my anger.
