So anyone else deal with them?

Here in L.A. the last big one was the Northridge quake. It felt like 30 seconds of class four rapids while riding my bed.

Last night around 10 p.m. I heard felt a sharp crack and reverberation. It sounded exactly like what I imagine a nuclear bombing going off would sound fifty miles away. A few minutes later it happened again. Nothing shook, the lights didn't wiggle, but the house make a disturbing cracking sound near the roof line. So I pulled up google Earth and realized my house sits between two epicenters of prior quakes, about a mile apart from each.

The are rather terrifying, as there is abosultely nothing you can do and you never know if the one your feeling
is the beginning of the end.

Here's some data on last night quake storm:
1.2  2007/05/24 03:54:00 34.213N 117.365W  4.2    3 km ( 2 mi) ESE of Devore, CA
1.6  2007/05/23 23:37:13 34.182N 117.394W 15.3    4 km ( 3 mi) S   of Devore, CA
1.2  2007/05/23 23:28:48 34.187N 117.401W 16.9    4 km ( 2 mi) S   of Devore, CA
3.9  2007/05/23 23:15:15 34.203N 117.376W 10.0    3 km ( 2 mi) SE  of Devore, CA
3.9  2007/05/23 23:11:39 34.198N 117.385W 12.7    3 km ( 2 mi) SSE of Devore, CA

All mostly small, yet closely spaced and withing several minutes of each other.
I'm scaird, hold me.

it was about 2 am and i was in my sleeping bag next to my HUMMVEE, sleeping good when it happened

I thought I was dreaming bc it was like a herd of buffalo stampedeing right NEXT to me

I jumped out of sleeping bag and looked around and looked like the HUMMVEEs were on hydraulics

there lights were on and there was so much dust and sand kicked up

that was probably the worest feeling I have lived through bc theres no where to go for safety (unless you're in the air)

Earthquakes scare the shit out of me and I've never even experienced one. I've been through 3 F1-F2+ tornado's. Ill take one of these
over an earthquake any day or night!

Since we haven't dealt with a good one for 13 years, I'm guessing we're in for it.

You can say that again. Although we did have a minor earthquake in Kent about a month ago and there was a Tornado in Kensal Rise (London) a couple of months ago.

Couple of years ago at Binghamton, NY there was a little quake, enough to shake everything in my dorm, knock a few things down. Almost shit my pants because you really don't expect quakes at all in that geographical region.

Seattle is ready for a double catastrophe. Big earthquake which could then trigger Mt Ranier to blow...or vise versa. Olympia and Tacoma will be washed away by the lahar. (sp?)

Apparently, Manhattan's on top of a fault line. Yayz! There's actually been really tiny earthquakes since forever.

I live in Queens, bitches. Ideally that'd be enough to save me.

The last one we got was up in Rochester. Yes, NY gets earthquakes too. We are on a plate after all.

I felt my bed rumble for like half a second. That was about it.

The last earthquake we had, I was smoking a bowl in a car with this fat chick (she was just my friend, I swear ) I totally thought the movement was just her big fat ass breathing or something...anywyas, went home to my parent's house to find them awake, for one thing, which was weird @ 10:30pm...and asking me all sorts of questions about the earthquake that I had no recollection of. I thought it was some sort of sick joke they were trying to pull on me. "Ha ha! yeah earthquake lolz"... I think they could tell I was stoned out of my mind.
