I had a $10 desk mic from my local department store, worked fine, only replaced it with the BF2 headset that came with preorders, since then im now on my 3rd headset(once you use one youll never go back to a plain ole mic).

What background noises? All I hear out of my headset is the sounds of battle. Headset > speakers (b/c headset can block the gf/fiance/wife yelling at you!)

Dont buy a simgle mic, people will freak out on TS or Vent when they will hear them selves with the echo, look for a good headset, its perfect, confortable, and prices are good !
