I don't think tactics factors in when your nation is so small. While your concept makes sense, not sure how accurate that is.

Think of a soccer team.
If you only play against each other all the time, how can you tell how good you are, or if your "play calling" and tactics are effective?
Furthermore, they would cause major uproar with an action such as that.

Liberals love spending other peoples money.
For me, liberal is defined as someone who whines and complains about everything no matter what. Conservative is defined as someone who is way too rich and gets hated on all the time.
These are the raw definitions of liberalism and conservatism:
Liberalism is basically focused on change and improvement; Always focusing on new ideas. Conservatism focuses on keeping things closer to the way they are or the way they were in the past. For their time the founding fathers were liberal, but now that their ideas/beliefs are widespread/accepted, today they would be considered conservative. Liberal ideas are new ideas-new ways of thinking-progressive(or so they ssay). Over time, the liberal ideas that become popular become conservative ideas. Failed liberal ideas die out and become radical; almost dead. This is why younger people tend to be more liberal and older people more conservative. They are rebelling and getting a feel for how to judge what they believe in.

The Libertarians appear to support and reject everything that their candidates say they (individually) do. In this manner, they can be for and against everything all at the same time.
