in life you will see great loss.  i've buried all but one of my grandparents.  a few friends. and it doesn't get easier on me.  for me it's not that i miss the dead ones so much, but how it affects those living.  knowing that the spouse has to go on living without the other or parents living on without one of their children.  just seeing that breaks me down and i can't help it.

This does win the 'e-sadness of the year thread' award. Me and my mum don't get along very well all the time, but I'd still hate to loser her. Me and my dad get along really well, so I'd hate to lose him. But worst would be my brothers I think (25 and 22, I think..) - I know my parents will die in my lifetime but I would just hate to suffer the pain of seeing one, or both of my brothers die.

One was in a car accident, and one survived a disease called 'ITP' in which he was rushed to the emergency room several times. I'm glad they're alive.
