The solution was already being implemented by the Israelis, but they got one little aspect wrong.
Problem: two peoples who hate each other on a fundamental religious basis
Solution: Build a fucking wall around them so no one else gets hurt while they kill each other, because nothing else will be good enough for either side.
There is NO solution to any of the problems in the middle east as long as they embrace their religious beliefs.  Yes, if they both agreed to stop fighting then there would be peace, but it would be the governments agreeing to stop fighting, not the practitioners of the religions.  The mandates their religion dictates override any treaty that any form of government can make.  Blame one of the guys who head one of the states or blame the other, neither has ANY sway over what people "under his rule" will do.  Stop pretending it is one mans fault (despite what a douche he is/was) and accept that some people do not want to change.  It is easy for us to say this and that, but to a lot of them it is an issues that they are fully ready to kill and die for.

I think you are reading far too much into the religious aspects of the conflict. Which are really just a small part of the problem. Religion is to blame for certain aspects of the conflict, especially from the outset. This days it is a much less important issue.

The heart of the problem is the oppression, dispossession, deprivation and ethnic cleansing perpetrated against the Arab populous of the region by the Israelis. This creates the correct political climate for radicalisation of Palestinians, leading to terror attacks, leading to retaliation by the Israelis, which perpetuates the cycle of hatred and violence. Addressing the issues that create radicalisation amongst the Palestinians should at the very least, massively reduce any terror attacks against the Israelis, hopefully leading to no further retaliation and paving the way for relations between the two states to improve over time.

I'm inclined to believe that the issues that create radicalisation amongst the Palestinians are those of religious origin.  Now, the fact that politics/oppression/dispossession/deprivation/ethnic cleansing have resulted from these differing views of religion does not change the fact that it is a religious war.  For all of human history there has been someone trying to retake the "holy land".  With our evolved brains, and advanced technology [edit] not to forget our close knit global community and enlightened society [/edit] we are still fighting the same battles over again.  Yes there are other factors involved, but the root of all of them it what god you worship.

/nonsense

The Palestinians are probably the only bunch of politically motivated and nationalistic arabs in the whole of the middle east. The rise of Hamas and Islam was only made possible through the financial and governmental corruption of Fatah.

You know what would solve this never ending conflict? And possibly all major conflicts in this time and space?

Do away with all religions.

Untill that day, there will never be peace in the middle-east, nor the rest of the world, because both the Palestinian and Israeli government are to stuborn to take one step back.

Im not saying religion is root to all evil. But most conflicts do find themselves orginating from a religious point of view.

As for the Palestinians vs Israeli's:
A possible solution; merge both countries. (Hey I said possible, did not say it was plausible.)

Such as WW1 and WW2, which had more to do with religion than economic or political factors.

Dude, the Middle East is so fucked up. I doubt that there would be peace for 500+ years.

You might want to remove your head from your rear, and actually read the post. I said most. Not all. You are twisting my words to make yourself look sharp and witty.

And concerning the topic P vs I, it is religion based. Both claim their rights to the land from their holy books. And will not settle for less than total annihalation of the other party, be it Israel or Palestina.

Geez, I hate people that nuke my words.

Surely WW1 and 2 being the leading cause of death in the past 100 years or so should agree with this theory of yours? Saying most and then ignoring them seems a little odd.

I don't think merging the two countries is exactly a realistic suggestion either...

But in what way have the WW I & II lead to the conflicts in Iraq? Afghanistan or Israel?
Except for the fact that the US was unwillingly dragged into the WW II conflict, and sort of voluntary jumped into Iraq and Afghanistan.

But I do not reckon that this issue is at hand right now, and we are both derailing the topic.

Enough said, again please read what I say before responding.

Let's focus on the topic, not on war history shall we?
