I'm looking at a new machine to buy.  I want to run BF2 with all the settings on high.  Will this do it and is it a good deal?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ CPU
ATI CrossFire 580X MB
1GB DDR2-800 Memory
250GB 7200 RPM SATA-2 HDD
18x Double Layer DVD+/-RW
2x ATI X1950GT 256MB 16x PCI-Express Video [Cross-Fire]
7.1 Channel 3D Surround Sound
600 Watts Subwoofer Speakers
10/100/1000 Network LAN
Eagletech Sidewinder Gaming Case w/MOD window
Windows VISTA Home Premium

$899US

-Or how about this one for a considerably cheaper amount?

Intel® Core 2 Duo E6320 CPU
ASUS nForce 650i SLI chipset
DDR-2 PCI-Express MB
1GB DDR2-800 Memory
160GB 7200 RPM SATA-2 HDD

256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT
16x PCI-Express Video
7.1 Channel 3D Surround Sound
600 Watts Subwoofer Speakers

Thanks!

1st one is ok, get 2 gigs of ram for vista or just get xp

I'd go for the second since I'm an Intel-geek.
Also, if it's not going to break your budget, go for an 8800 series video card.

Also, get 2GB's of RAM, it's necessary. You need 2GB's.
Otherwise, it's looking purdy good.

Go for the latter, but add another 1GB of RAM. Vista is great, don't listen to any of those morons who haven't even tried it probably.

The keyboard is ok. not worth the price. The novelty is that it lights up in three different colors, all of which are far to dim to be effective in a dark room other than for mood.
The G7 was a huge mistake. i got the 2007 G7 and have had nothing but problems, and lag that i can only interpret from the transmitter to the mouse. short life span on the batteries.

DONT, buy the 8500GT, if your goin for dx10 then at the very least 8600GTS, preferably 8800GTS.  Am aware its more expensive, but that 8500 just wont suffice.  Double the RAM too

Yes, the 8500GT is an HTPC card--not really meant for serious gaming.

Also, I recommend 2 gigs of ram for vista.

Yeah.

Get the 320MB GTS too. It's less money for not much of a performance difference.

Both should run the game maxed out just fine... except for the fact that you HAVE to have a minimum of 2GB's of ram. I would personally go for the top one though. But change the cpu and mobo for a Core 2 Duo/motherboard combo instead.
