I've been trying lately to boost my heli ratio (as it's real awful right now).  I played single player for a while to learn the basics of chopper flying, and I'm no master at it, but I feel that I'm decent.  Well, the problem I have is I can't even get in one in a multiplayer map.  I either don't get in it at all, or get in gunner seat with a novice pilot.  I consider myself decent at helis...but, my ratio is so bad because I get in one so rarely.  It's discouraging to have such a terrible ratio and low time in one...especially when I'd love to become an experiened heli pilot.

Does anyone else have these problems?  Also, where is a good place to play to get in a battle chopper?  I just feel that I always get the short stick when I try to get in battle helis.

play dalian plant or 64 player dragon valley. Theres 4 helicopters on each map, youre bound to get one eventually.

Also, remember that you are the most important player on your team, and putting a 50 caliber sniper round through the head of anyone that stands between you and your helicopter is absolutely fine. In fact, you'd be doing your team a favor. Just dont do it to me.

i had this same problem when i started. just keep trying to get one as often as you can. eventually you will.

wot sought of load times do u get Tails_Kitsune? It's been getting a bit harder for me to get helos to, but i think it's mainly becos ppl have been updating their computers a bit, and so are beginning to get faster load times then me, 'nother GB or 2 of RAM will prob fix that for me .

Also, know where the 2ndry helos are, ppl tend to go for those only after the first one has been grabbed, so I spawn straight at them when I can, or cap the flag they spawn at 1st.

Alright, thanks for the map tip, Skruples.

Silverwolf, my loading time could be better...to say the least. ^_^  My main problem is my GHz (just above minimum) so about 3/5s of the players beat me in.  Usually when I get in, the battle chopper nearest to me is just taking off.  I'll try to get to the 2ndry helis, first, though, so thanks for the tip.

I prefer 32 player servers hosting 64 player maps.  Dilian plant and Dragon valley the best with a possible 3 friendly heli pads w/ choppers.  You won't find as many pilots in there if server is about half full but will find plenty of targets to shoot at.

Usually you just have to wait for the initial start of the round, once everyone quits using the helo's as air taxi's to get to the flags first one will be available to you.  That or know where uncapped flags spawn helo's, haul ass in a FAV or DPV and get thier first.

The problem I run into more often than not is if I'm the pilot 8 out of 10 times the gunner is inexperienced and doesn't use anything but the chain gun (don't hit shit with it but that's all they use) or if im gunner the pilot is inexperienced and we turn into a 12k yard dart or get pwned with a tv missle... DOH!
