I would compare this war to the US Revolutionary War. Here's my point of view.
In 1774-(what is it 76?) the British were fighting the American Militia. Now, the American Militia did have uniforms, basically clothes with patches for ranks and crap. But they were uniforms nonetheless. It must have been hard for English soldiers to tell the difference between old farmer and enemy soldier. Now, for those times, lining up in front of the opposing force and taking turns was how to fight. The Militias ignored this when possible, and envoked guerilla warfare. The British though, tried to fight the gentleman's fight. Guess what? They lost.
Now, compare to Iraq. The US soldiers have a different fighting style than that of the insurgents. The insurgents blend in with the crowd, fire when no one is looking, and act normally later. The US in this case is trying to fight the gentleman's fight. I believe we are winning the fight, but we need to stop being nice to these people. We need to stoop to their level to fight them on equal terms, otherwise, the war will be lost.

the truth is, these fuckers never stand up and fight. its always ambush and 10 minute firefight and they disappear
