Hello everyone,

I m a tech noob so i really need some good advise about a new gaming rig i want to buy. My old pc is 4 years old and its a p4 2,53ghz with an ati radeon 9600 and 1 gig ram. Loading maps takes forever and when i finally enter the game, all the squads are full and all the vehicles are usually gone.

I ve been saving up some money and got 2250 euro's to spend on a new gaming rig with a flatscreen. The problem is, i dont know much about this tech stuff so i was hopefully you tech heads could like to help me out.

Included in the price must be a os, its gonna cost 45 euro's to have it build cause i cant build it myself. I was thinking of getting a 19" flatscreen with it so i guess that leaves around 1800 euro's for the rig. I already have a g5 and g15 so i dont need a new mouse or keyboard btw.

I want 2 x 74 gb wd raptors in raid 0 to kill loading times and the rest is up to you. What would you get if you had 1800 euro's to spent?

Thanks!

Echo.

I have a 7200 HD, no RAID, and when a map loads, I have to wait for the countdown to finish until I can spawn. Last night I took off with a J10 in Dragon valley and had the time to fly to the Farmhouse until someone else spawned.

Just get 4 gigs of ram, that's the key to fast loadings.

so we're building from scratch minus the hard drives, keyboard, mouse and monitor? (though I would recommend a bigger monitor 1600x1200 is beautiful..)

EDIT: what OS are you getting?

and can you give me the site where you're going to buy all of the stuff.. in euros?  I'll build it right now for you.

I capped 2 flags today, nearly a third before an enemy finally spawned today on Ghost Town

You said you had 2250 euros earlier?

An LG 22" Widescreen monitor costs £190, so Im guessing thats around 250 euros. So that leaves about 2000 euros on your rig.

if you got the cash then go for 8800GTX. no need for SLi and it's still super fast. if you are planning to get another gfx card sometimes (extra 400€) then a different psu and motherboard is must.

I recommend that you just build it yourself. It really isn't that difficult, and you'll also get some much-needed experience. Even though you have a nice budget, 2 x 74GB (assuming you buy retail) is going to be a serious price. Go with a single 150GB! 1800 Euros is around £1200 - so here's what I built at Overclockers:

https://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t143/leetkyle/1200build.png

It's a very, very nice system! Case is actually built for a Raptor. The only thing I didn't add was another hard drive for media usage.

I d rather get 2 smaller raptors then a single big one. Btw i m not gonna build it myself cause i just know too little about it.

Yea 2250 with a monitor, os and 45 euro's to have it build so i figured there's maybe 1800 to spent on the rig itself.
