I wish I could. But there are no "bundles" that include an AGP mobo. Or even part AGP.
I need a new mobo to even think of buying a new CPU. Seeing as my mobo is only for AMD CPUs.

Surely it would be cheaper to buy a graphics card NOW, than buying a motherboard that support your current GFX. After all you are going to be forced to buy the new parts; assuming you gonna play the latest games! Either wait...or get something that worth the money!

Zimmer, remember my PCI/AGP mobo? It's quality, I've OC'd my intel 4300 on it to 2.5 ghz without problems. I'd recommend you get something along the same lines I have, its a very good budget option. And, when you've got the cash, you can stick a new video card in there without having to buy another motherboard

Asrock 4CoreDual-VSTA
Corsair TWIN2X2048 (2GB DDR2 ram)
Intel C2D 4300

that would leave you a fair amount of money, so you can opt for a better processor or ram, a bigger harddrive, or save it so you can buy a video card sooner

So your choices are:

1)Get that bundle + HDD =  Graphics don't work......You're

2)Get that bundle + HDD (wait for install till you can afford new graphics) = You're

3)Get new mobo with AGP support, get some half decent RAM = OK, but stuck with AMD, maybe ?

4)Stick with what you have + HDD = Up to you whether you're or

5)Go all the way ..... Bundle + HDD + Graphics = Very    SCREW THE BUDGET!!

Get a mobo with onboard graphics until you can afford a new card?

Sarge. I think you are right. I will have to go for that.
Maybe spend a bit more on a CPU.

I need an upgrade. Badly.

I will have to keep my shitty 6800LE for now... Yes yes, I know it doesn't even exist anymore.

I was looking for bundles... I came across this one - Good bundle?

Is that any good? Or should I hand pick shit? I think that is the furthest I can go budget-wise right now.

Now, for a new hard drive. This doesn't count in my budget...yet.
What HD should I go for? I want a good one, but not pricey and I want something 300GB big or larger.

Thoughts?

Cheers,

The last time i saw a 6800le was about 2 1/2 years ago and actually i was thinking of buying one at the time

Yeah. Well, the 6800LE does its job. I can run most games till now on med/high, which is quite impressive for such an old card. But it wont last beyond the end of this year.

Now, opinions on the set of items I have screenied.

Try and get at least PC6400, then you can OC anyway. They've got some good prices on RAM at OcUK so you're on the right track.

My Ram is 4200 I know this thread for Zimmer but surely it wont make much difference. Also my RAM does the job. Then again I dont know anything about OC.

It's a tiny increase in cost, but it comes with a higher stock speed and tightneed timings. You'll be able to push it more than PC4200 so its better value really

That mobo only supports up to 5400 ram I think, I was considering getting a similar setup a few months back but decided against it, as it rather limited, just nicked some older parts of my mate to keep me going and am gonna spend the money I saved on buying a 8800 gts later this week...

True, but you can always push the board FSB up and then it'll work (I know you have to get a bit techinical), or even underclock the RAM so when you have the opportunity to get another board you dont have to buy MORE RAM.

Dude, you just said that 6800le wont last you through the year anyway... so get the package now, don't waste time getting some bullshit AGP/PCI-e motherboard combo.  The other one was a hell of a good deal, seriously you'd be stupid not to go for it.

Then, whenever you have the money for a new graphics card (probably after the price drops we've been hearing about) go for a 8800gts 320mb, or hell.. at this point even a 8600gts would be a HUGE improvement.  And the e6600 is a hell of a lot better th an the e6320.  You may be getting a temp upgrade but it's shit.  With that deal, you get a great processor, great ram and a good motherboard.  By upgrading now, you're screwing yourself later.

What about onboard graphics until you have enough for a actual card?

Just as an idea - I am not going to be trying to run 3 games on high definition at the same time. The computer will be used, mainly, for CS3 Products and the such. They take up a lot of RAM usage, but I do not need an incredibly high end PC for it.
I may be playing Crysis sometimes and some other new games at the end of this year, but does this justify me dishing out another £150 on a GC? I mean, really.
I would love to grab the newest nVidia graphics card with some amazing Ram and CPU, but that wont happen anytime soon.
Huge price drops? The prices are at rock bottom right now, I doubt we will be getting more price drops in this year. Plus, I NEED this upgrade fast. I can't even start my computer.

The advice I keep seeing is "go for the bundle and get a graphics card". That would make a hella of a difference to my computer...but it's just not gonna happen. I don't have that kind of money to spend on some small, shiny metal pieces.

Just so you know, those bundles are no cheaper, they just stick them together so you're guarunteed it'll all work.

What you last posted is fine, but switch the 8600GT to either an X1650 or a 7600GT, cause the 8600's are abso-fucking-lutely shit. The only mildly acceptable one is the GTS, and even then that'd only be if it cost 80 quid less.

Why are they so bad?
I will go for a 7600GT if that is a good card. But I was thinking about a DX10 card...
I don't understand why they are so bad.

Basically, they're hugely expensive and in the vast majority of benchmarks don't perform as well as the 7600GT, or equal to it. The GT isn't even worth looking at, only the GTS performs similarly. DX10 is not a necessity. For 100 quid you could get an X1950 or something which would be far superior. Personally, I'm of the opinion that DX10 is a bit of a gimmick at the moment. Either get a powerful DX9 card that'll last you quite a while, or just get a cheap card like a 7600GT that will be good but cheap and then at some point in the future you can upgrade to an 8800GTS, or one of the new DAAMIT cards if the cheaper ones look to be good.
