Is that the cheapest mobo you can get that is actually good?
Or can you go down a level?

You don't need to copy my exact products, and is that RAM good?

OK, I thought that was exactly what you wanted. I'll have a look and come back with what I find. No more than £350?

Just so you know, those bundles are no cheaper, they just stick them together so you're guarunteed it'll all work.

What you last posted is fine, but switch the 8600GT to either an X1650 or a 7600GT, cause the 8600's are abso-fucking-lutely shit. The only mildly acceptable one is the GTS, and even then that'd only be if it cost 80 quid less.
Why are they so bad?
I will go for a 7600GT if that is a good card. But I was thinking about a DX10 card...
I don't understand why they are so bad.
Basically, they're hugely expensive and in the vast majority of benchmarks don't perform as well as the 7600GT, or equal to it. The GT isn't even worth looking at, only the GTS performs similarly. DX10 is not a necessity. For 100 quid you could get an X1950 or something which would be far superior. Personally, I'm of the opinion that DX10 is a bit of a gimmick at the moment. Either get a powerful DX9 card that'll last you quite a while, or just get a cheap card like a 7600GT that will be good but cheap and then at some point in the future you can upgrade to an 8800GTS, or one of the new DAAMIT cards if the cheaper ones look to be good.
You keep saying the GT for the 7600, when the better of the 7600 is the GS. Linky

So then...how about this?
Gigabyte 7600GS
That looks like some deal.
Thoughs?

It should be no more than £300. But a bit over wont do any harm... I hope.

No, the GT is the top model. And that's the 7900GS, not 7600GS, which is good value for money. The GT is better, but the GS is still good. The 7600GT is tied for the top card for $100~ The GT has always been the better model, the GS uses a different core IIRC, which is clocked far lower.

A noname 7600GT You don't get as good a warrenty, but it'll be made by a reputable manufacturer, just uses different stickers, which saves you some cash.
Uber cheap X1650 Good make, good spec; on a budget I'd get it.
Identical card, but comes with 512Mb RAM Again, a very good buy, depends how much you need to save money.
Peronally, I'd lean towards the last one, but it depends how much you can spare. All of those are much, much better bang for buck than any of the 8600/8600 series right now.

Ok, thanks you guys.

Ghetto...would this be a better 7600GT? Palit 7600GT

Now, lets try a combination of both your suggestions...

Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 = £101.04
Intel BLKDG9650TMKR i965 = £72.72
HIS ATI Radeon X1650 Pro ICEQ Turbo 512MB = £58.74
G.Skill 2GB DDR2 NR PC2-6400 = £68.14

Total Cost = £300.64

WOW, right on there.

I believe you could get a cheaper mobo, but I am unsure on what to go for. Any suggestions?
@Bullet-Tooth

I believe we could still cut the cost down.
Ghetto - Do you think that is the best GFX card for that kind of money?

The X1650 and 7600GT are really pretty similar in performance, however I'd get the Z1650 512Mb, just because it's slightly cheaper, from a company I've heard of and has 512Mb of RAM.

But overclocking in the X1650 is not very good compared to the 7600.

Your choice then. Can't really help you more than that. They both have plus and minus points. At this point it's probably down to personal preference. The X1650 looks cooler if that helps any.

The RAM BUllet-tooth found - is it any good?

Post above shows a motherboard - Better?

Why the 7600GT? And which one do you recommend?

Edit - Seeing as you are the person with the "more" computer knowledge. You find me the 4 components for a decent price. ( leetkyle ) Make sure it is below Bullet-tooth's last set of prices.

This motherboard Slightly more expensive, but not much and it's one of the better mobos out there.

OK. Recap.

Found this Graphics card
256MB XFX 7600GT PCI-E (x16), Mem 1450MHz, GPU 570MHz = £66.96
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard = £70.49
Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 = £101.04
G.Skill 2GB DDR2 NR PC2-6400 = £68.14

Total Cost = £306.99

Not bad... I was hoping to get it cheaper. But I am guessing this is quite a solid set up. Correct?

Never had a problem with six builds with those Intel motherboards, but each to their own I suppose. Your new list is very solid, you should be very happy with that.

Yeah, that's a sweet set up. The XFX card is a good idea, I hadn't found that. (mostly cause I don't use Scan)

DO NOT GET THE X1600. It is outdated. heavily outdated. I used it for half a year, last summer to last christmas, and even then it was struggling to stay alive. the 7600gt is a much better choice. If you can't get the 7600, don't get anything yet

as for the rest.. top! should be a very solid setup

In most benchmarks they perform more or less the same. And it's the X1650 btw.
