Ok.. Um... my dad and I were trying to scan my report card (please don't ask why) and when we were scanning,  there was an option to change to microsoft e-mail 2003. We clicked it and the next time my dad clicked on his e-mail, there was a new e-mail program and every one of his e-mail was gone. Now, My dad owns a company and the e-mails are really important. So, would anybody please tell me a way for my dad to retrieve his e-mails again? A karma if you help. Thanks.

Umm.. I think you're screwed.  Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure if they are gone, they're gone for good.

yea I think there are ways to retrieve anything from windows once you take it off, such as removing important details from your e-mail account. You just have to know how its still on the hard drive somewhere its never really gone.

I think outlook saves all email in a folder located in the windows folder somewhere.

If you go up to tools > options > click maintenance tab >click store folder box  that I think, gives you the location of your emails. So then you can direct yourself to that folder and see if they are still there?

system restore ? maybe that would work, but since it's with email I doubt it. I would restore it at least 2 days prier.

Edit:
That might actually bring your old email thing back, but I'm not sure about the actual emails.

The new email program may not be set up to hit his old email account. Check the settings and make sure it uses the same server, username and password. If that's not it, the old email program may have stored everything in some weird format that the new one can't read.

I've never heard of a product called MS Email 2003. Are you sure it wasn't Exchange 2003 or Outlook 2003? If it was really called Email 2003, then you probably DLed an email virus that wiped out your stuff.

You could also try going to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the new one. Don't trust scanning software to update your email in the future.

i had something similar before. I was using outlook, and some different version of outlook was on there one day (i think my brothers being stupid). none of my emails were in it. but i figured out a way to open up regular outlook again. don't remember exactly how. just look all over your computer for it.

I read a news article that e-mails are never really deleted. They aren't stored in your computer, they are stored in a server. You have to find out where that freakin server is, and contact their IT. I'm pretty sure the e-mails are fine. But like mentioned above, try sysrestore as well. But I'm pretty confident that the e-mails are fine. Not 100% but almost there. LOL. Good luck!
