Yes, and which came first, Martin Luther's Reformation or King Henry's Church of England?
History lessons for me is way back, so from what I can recall they are two distinct Christian faith. The Church of England is what I believe is termed as the Anglican Church and they do honour saints in contrast to the Protestant Reformation initiated by Martin Luther which amongst other things do not belief in the intercession of saints . I do not recall that either one gave rise to the other. But I stand corrected as I am not an expert on religious issues.

No, because that isn't the belief of Christianity.  I suggest you re-read your bible, specifically the part about Jesus.
Do you really think that is what Christianity (the non-neo-conservative/extremist) is about? Believe or burn?  This is news to me.  Are you sure your not referring to WBC?

No, Protestants are those who protested what the Catholic church had become and as such set up their own churches.  Even before that, however, there were a huge number of Christians who weren't Catholics, including a second Pope based in Constantinople.

Either am I, but Protestant Churches don't follow any single set of beliefs.  It's a catch-all term for Churches created as a result of Martin Luther's rebellion.

Yes, because that's the central underpinning belief of Christianity.

Well I'm sure they believe it too, but I'm not specifically referring to them.

The Catholic Church is the Apostolic church founded by the Apostle Peter as commanded by Jesus himself, it's the daddy.  The early christian churches would all view themselves as "Catholic" - from wiki, "

First church

The fish (Classical Greek ΙΧΘΥΣ, an acronym meaning Jesus Christ, Son Of God, Saviour) was a symbol of the early Church.The right to be considered the first or oldest Christian church has been a point of contention historically. Christianity, of course, began in Roman Judea and gradually spread westward into Asia Minor, Egypt, Illyria, Rome and eventually the entire Empire. Historically the first city to consider itself truly Christian was Antioch and, as such, the Church of Antioch[45] there considers itself the be the first true Christian Church, deriving its authority directly from the apostles Peter and Paul. The Roman Catholic Church has traditionally argued that Saint Peter, appointed by Jesus as the head of the Church, eventually moved to Rome establishing himself and his successors in Rome as the true leaders of Christianity making the Roman Catholic Church the actual original Church. The Eastern Orthodox Church (of which the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch is a part) has argued that the scripture in no way designated Saint Peter as having unique authority over the Church and argues that all of the original patriarchates of the Roman Empire, including Rome, trace their roots to the apostles. As such all of the patriarchates, those of Eastern Orthodoxy as well as Rome which split from the rest during the Great Schism, are part of the original Church.

So all Protestants whether they like it or not are Protesting Catholics, and may god have mercy on their souls <--- denotes humour..

Not insulting Catholosism in anyway here:

I am a Protestant Christian. Here's a little diagram I've drawn (leet paint skills!) to show you the real difference:

Protestant = Black Line
Catholic = Red Line

I was raised a Trinity Lutheran. I found the people in my church were mostly hypocrites, save for the Pastor. My kids are in a Catholic School because its the best in the area. I am not a big believer in Organized religion. It does serve its purpose well.

That's like saying that America is a subject of the British Empire.  It was a subject of the British Empire, it isn't any more.  The early Protestants were Catholics, who protested, and created new churches.

Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyye Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.  Sure c'mon Bub, me and you will create a church!! it will be real!! C'mon you sound devine, all will bow to you! c'mon!
