A+ for effort.  D- for method.  F for subtleness.

Also, FoxNews...Jesus fucking Christ...

I can understand her. She has already lost one child, and if she had continued, she'd probably ruined the little family life and sanity she has left.

I guess the fact that the democrats finally signed Bush's 120 Billion $ war cheque last week helped her make the decision. Is it any wonder she feels betrayed ?

Democrats:

"  blah blah ( illegal war ) blah blah ( impeachment )   blah blah ( timetables ) "

and in the end Bush gets what he wants, just like always.

Anybody surprised?

As for Sheehan, I feel a little sorry for her, she has made such a spectacle of herself. But at least she might go away now.

I view it as a definitive end to the days where one person could make a difference in this country.  With everything either controlled by a)corporations, b)unions, or c)government, the days of the little man are at an end.

Now we just sit back and and wait for the next Teddy Roosevelt to come along with his soft voice and big stick to empower the individual once more.

* A woman who suffered appalling humiliation, slander and paraia-manufacturing for airing her very legitimate grievances and beliefs in a country that purports to stand for 'free speech'.
* A woman who was exploited by all manner of disparate 'anti-war' movements with various self-serving agendas.

Perhaps she could have done things differently or more intelligently/shrewdly but I'd like to think that her implosion is the fault of all the selfish busybody interferers and the rabid hate-filled braindead 'patriots' who assassinated her character.

A lot of people out there have cause to be ashamed of themselves.

Bullshit.
She got her meeting with the president when her son died.

Then the liberal anti-war freaks get a hold of her and suddenly she is demanding another meeting, so she could say;

" I just want to know, Mr. Bush, why did you murder my son?"

Bush was right in ignoring her after the first meeting because it's obvious she had sold her sons soul to be the next media darling.

'suffered appalling humiliation, slander and paraia-manufacturing ",. ha, she was a clown undeserving of the attention.

I am sorry, any mother that can stand there and declare her son died for nothing when he in fact died doing something he believed in - Idiot.  If a mother has that little respect for her son's decisions then she deserves the bed she made.  She needs to come to peace with the fact her son signed up for the military on his own accord and was fighting along side men he would call brothers.  The war and circumstances can not and should not over shadow this.

So good of the Great One to take his time to meet with the relatives of the dead. After that meeting they should go home and shut up?

Or more and more circumstances came to light, that this war wasn't the most well planned, or even necessary thing the US has ever done, and it costs many lives for ill gain. WHich in turn upset her. She decided to protest and speek against. Constitutionaly protected rights last I checked.

So obvious. Bush was right in ignoring her because his reasons for war were going up in flames. It would have been suicide to address her.

She didn't get rich off this shit ATG. She wanted answers. Like the rest of America wants answers. Many realize they aren't going to get them so they are hoping to make a difference at the polls now. After what Sheehan went through (See Campoe's post above) who the hell wants to stand up and be demonized as she has been? Your better off just flipping on HBO and tuning it out. Its a bit harder for people with family over there.

I've never been a fan of Cindy Sheehan, but she is absolutely correct with this statement:

The woman fails to be at peace with herself and with her son's legacy.  She can not spread peace with such weight hanging on her soul.  She has been acting on feeling for too long and it has taken its toll.  There are many peace activists that carry the torch for decades and have not given up.  If this was truely something she believed in, she would find a way to come to peace with her Family and friends while continuing the fight.

I'm sure there are plenty of servicemen out there in Iraq thinking 'what the fuck am I doing here?'. Doing something he believed in pffft. Soldiers do a job - they don't do politics - they aren't asked whether they 'believe' or not.

So, you're taking shots at the Democrats?  The only reason Bush won was because the Democrats weren't willing to let the troops starve.  For all you think you're some rebel who hates the Democrats and Bush, you seem to take his side an awful lot.

Sheehan crossed the line for me when she started meeting with the likes of Chavez. She was able to meet the president and say her peace. That is much more than most parents of soldiers lost in the war, then she wants to do it again?. I get really tired of Bush being blamed for EVERYTHING. I am not a Bush lover or hater. Not a democrat or republican. Remember, everyone voted to go to war, republican and democrat alike and I for one will support the soldiers and their families no matter how long it takes.

I personally know a father and mother who lost a son in Iraq late last year, he was only there for about 2 months when an RPG was shot through his Humvee window and blew up inside his vehicle. He was in the front passenger seat and took most of the blow from the RPG and was the only one who died in the vehicle. I knew this kid, I helped pay for an exchange trip to so he could study abroad in Europe and I have known his family for about 12 years now. His parents aren't rushing to the White house or demanding meetings with Bush or trying to get on TV to bash our leaders. Nor are they meeting with Foreign leaders to let those leaders use them as propaganda to bash Bush even more. No...these people grieved, moved forward and on memorial day they remembered their son in a classy way. In fact, the local news interviewed them on memorial day during a parade to remember those soldiers who have fallen past and present. What they said in that news story was nothing near political. They spoke of their son and how proud they are of him. He was over in Iraq doing what he believed was right and his parents acted with class, dignity and respect and only spoke of and about their son. They are focused on their remaining son and daughter, who are only a few years younger, and working on their family to get past this. Sheehan, in my opinion, has focused way, way, way too much on the wrong things and she has lost more than she bargained for because she is focused on her hate rather than healing. Honestly, she can only blame herself for those things she has lost since her son's death and she finally needs to start healing, for her own good.

It is a classic democrat tactic to bring war widows and veterans to the press, since any type of argument against them is seen as an attack on the troops, not the party.  I just wonder what her son would say if he could see her now...
