Hello. I'm out for an upgrade really soon, and I've made some packages on the www.multitronic.fi website. But since I know much, but not all about computer hardware and its performance, I thought I'd ask the BF2s community for some help. If you own some good system that you know works well, could you please go to [www.multitronic.fi[/url] and pick a good package for me? (If the page is displayed in Finnish, check for other languages in the upper right corner) I'm looking for an Intel/nVidia based platform, preferably SLI-compatible. It's just motherboard, CPU and RAM I need. ~500€.

The packages that I've made consists of this:

No.1:

http://www.multitronic.fi/showprod.php? … I+PLATINUM
http://www.multitronic.fi/showprod.php? … 80557E6600
http://www.multitronic.fi/showprod.php? … 2N5K2%2F2G

No.2

http://www.multitronic.fi/showprod.php? … I+PLATINUM
http://www.multitronic.fi/showprod.php? … 80557E6600
http://www.multitronic.fi/showprod.php? … D2N5%2F512 (3x)

Also, do note that from where I live, this is the only webshop that can avoid 25% extra import tax... So any other webshops are out of the question.

P.S. You can't just go to a page and copy the link. From the product list, you need to right click, select properties and copy the link from there.

Thanks!

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

good selection of components,  MSI has a good reputation.  would recommend 800mhz memory. and an aftermarket heatsink/fan for the CPU,  zalman 9500 or 9700 series is great.

First of all, that's two times the same package, so... euh?
Secondly, that site sucks. I'm sorry, but could we agree on newegg or the like just to tell each other what components you'd probably want?

My suggestions:

Get a P965 or P35 board instead of an nForce650i, you probably will never ever need nor be able to afford a SLI config.
Go either with the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3P or DS4 or the GA-P35-DS3P or DS4, if you can't get your hands on these, just get an ASUS P5K, it's also available in that shop of yours.

The CPU is alright You'd possibly just want to overclock a little and therefore get a more potent HSF combo, Zalman is not bad, but they're making money basically with reputation - there are many coolers that excel them in cooling performance and price/performance ratio. Sadly, that site of yours doesn't offer any.

As for the ram... pff... buy somewhere else. Honestly.

Oops! You're right! I posted the same package twice I've corrected that. The second package has 800MHz.

As for the cooler, I already have one, a Freezer 7 Pro I got a couple of months ago (I got it after starting to play BF2, so no, I didn't rip off the name.)

And about the other shops... 25% import tax... x_x And the prices here on the island are sky high cause of that -.-

No, smartass, I'm saying that it's an unbelievable co-incident and I didn't know about the cooler until lately
