Here we go again. . . .
Halliburton, Bush, Cheney, "no blood for oil" blah blah blah blah blah BROKEN RECORD!
When your at war troops die. . . .thats why they call it war! Was Iraq a mistake?? Sure for various reasons, and it has been a success for various reasons too!. . . . either way you should chime in on an already existing Iraq war debate!
I hate Bush because he supports an amnesty immigration bill, not the Iraq war!
BTW where are the Brits?? Why is it just Americans and Iraqi's looking for your hostages??? Correct me if I am wrong but I didnt hear any British military personnel helping?

We're in there now to create stability because of the lack of stability that we caused when we took Hussein out.
Please list all the successful reasons for going to Iraq.
1. we shot some terrorists.S.J.N.P.0717 wrote:

There are still thousands out there and we created new ones by invading and raised terrorist attacks.

More terrorists to shoot
(im kidding, and I was in the last post too)
1. Saddam deadS.J.N.P.0717 wrote:

2. Uday and Qusay are dead
3. Millions of Iraqi's are no longer ruled under a brutal terrorist regime
4. 1st ever Democracy in the country of Iraq
5. Oil revenues are being used for the peoples benefit now to help rebuild the country, not build Saddam's palaces. Its still not a perfect system, but it IS helping people!
6. Kuwait/Saudi Arabia are no longer worried about getting invaded by an oppressive ruler.
7. Kurdistan maybe now be a real state as opposed to the only bastion away from Saddam.
8. Free speech in press, radio, and film.
9. Iraq is no longer an enemy of the USA
10. We have more of a military foothold on the region to discourage renegade nations like Iran from starting shit against their neighbors. Not too mention a better attack force against terrorist targets.

What? True, intelligent debate in the Junk Drawer?
I REFUSE TO HAVE IT!
I REFUSE TO HAVE IT!

Since everybody but Fadedsteve is busy being wannabe mods I'll jump on the bandwagon; instead of being pricks why not report the post or send the guy a friendly pm advising him in a constructive way how he fucked up . Sheesh.
1. Saddam has done some terrible shit but he ran the country like we never could.
2. Were they really a threat? I really have no idea
3. Millions of Iraqis have left haha plus the number of them dead from the war. Saddam stopped his crazy shit awhile back.
4. Who are we to go in there and force our government on them. Also no certainty it will stick around once we leave.
5. The oil revenues pay for the war and rebuilding. This was suppose to happen yet barely any of it has been used. The taxpayers have been paying for it.
6. Iraq wouldn't have done any shit again knowing we'd be there again to stop it.
7. No idea what it is how is it important?
8. Not bad at all but there is no certainty that will stick around when we leave.
9. Haha like Iraq was going to do shit to us? They didn't have any wmds and they had a third the army they did in the gulf war. Iraq was only threat to us if they had wmds. They didn't and the government knew it and lied.
10. When Bush first described it he used weeks and months. According to him the mission was accomplished so why are we still there haha. Remember we're suppose to be leaving soon so can't really use this point.

-yeah, we'll see who really benefits from oil.5. Oil revenues are being used for the peoples benefit now to help rebuild the country, not build Saddam's palaces. Its still not a perfect system, but it IS helping people!
-Bullshit. Hussein had no real military left, and he knew we would stomp on him if he even looked at Kuwait or Saudi Arabia.6. Kuwait/Saudi Arabia are no longer worried about getting invaded by an oppressive ruler.
-Big Fucking Deal. A region that was Saddam-free, will now be a State that is Saddam-free? Ooh, and it will only cost us our relationship with Turkey.7. Kurdistan maybe now be a real state as opposed to the only bastion away from Saddam.
-Great, so when mom gets blown up at the market the family can hear about it in a free press, radio, and film.8. Free speech in press, radio, and film.
-Yeah, because if they were, we'd be there fighting a war right now.9. Iraq is no longer an enemy of the USA
-All we did was save Iran the hastle of having to invade and overthrow Iraq and Hussein, we did it for them.10. We have more of a military foothold on the region to discourage renegade nations like Iran from starting shit against their neighbors. Not too mention a better attack force against terrorist targets.
Or mabye you mean neighbors like Lebannon? did they start any shit against their neighbors last summer?
you forgot to metion that we're fighting them there so we don't have to fight them here.-that's my favorite bumbersticker
1. Hitler was also an effective ruler, and Mussolini may have been brutal "but at least the trains ran on time". Stalin carried his people through terrible war, and Mao built Chinese infrastructure and nukes. Good reason to keep them all in power, right?S.J.N.P.0717 wrote:

2. They were nuts! One of them loved to torture innocent people personally just for shits and giggles! Some kids are sick, and they set their dog on fire or feed their bird to the house cat. These kids removed people's digits.
3. Saddam still had his mass graves, his gassed Kurds, his completely repressed Shia majority. When he lost the first war he lost all but the west and baghdad to the shiites in their revolts, which were struck down such that we may never truly know how many were killed. This is why Saddam didn't take out his bridges when we were invading... he figured he'd probably need them to move his troops around to strike down revolt when we left... just like last time.
4. We forced it on Japan and South Korea, they seem to have far surpassed their neighbors who did not accept rule by the people. It also stuck around!
5. Because "Mr. MBA" Bush has completely lost all touch with reality. Unfortunate, I know. Hopefully we'll get a competent president next round and we won't make such mistakes again.
6. Are you sure we'll always be willing to stop it?
7. I agree, I think Kurdistan is a load of nationalist horsecrap.
8. Not if we leave without a stable democratic government in place.
9. For the last fucking time... IRAQ HAD WMD. WE'RE THE RETARDS THAT GAVE IT TO THEM!!!!!!
10. A mission is a battle. The battle for Iraq was won. Now it was simply a matter of holding the territory and building upon it the roots of a stable nation. All you liberals use that speech on the Lincoln (which was more celebratory for the troops and for their morale then it was a message to anyone else anyhow) as this little technicality sticking point bullshit. The man isn't good with words. You don't understand that yet? Like I said, Iraq's main army had been defeated, and the government overthrown. Mission Accomplished. You all are taking mission accomplished to mean "War Done." He never ever said "War Done." You pussies just assumed that's what he said because you have a dreadfully weak resolve when it comes to any battle other than those of a legal or political nature.
I love this guy. Let's put him in the Hall of Fame for realising what most people in this section are really about so quickly.joeymango29 wrote:

well fuck you
bunch a fuckin "computer perectionists" in this shit.
All of Saddam's crazy shit was in the past doesn't excuse it but he stopped. Mussolini and Hitler were attacking countries and hitler massacring jews as fast as he could when he was stopped. Saddam wasn't doing this shit ona regular basis. He stopped and wasn't a threat.
2. So there's a guy who likes to torture people? Bush supports torture of course for a reason but still he supports it. So all this guy would've done is just find someone who needed to be tortured for information and it would've been okay with bush. But like the other guy said, big fucking deal.
3. like I said it was in the past it had done nothing recently to have provoked out attack.
4. we forced it on South Korea? thought we fought to not let them fall to communism anyways. In Japan there were hardly any radical groups like In Iraq. In Iraq there isn't that much stability especially now since Sadda is gone.
5. Yes I hope the same
6. I doubt Saddam would want to risk any more of his military gambling on it.
7. Haha if you agree with me you have no idea what it is or ever heard of it before hahaha.
8. But this is really iffy
9. What wmds did they have?
10. Yeah I know a mission is a battle I noticed right beofre I was about to post and was too lazy to go back an change it. building a stable nation wasn't part of the sales pitch. it was to fight terrorist and get rid of this crazy saddam guy with his wmds coming out the wazoo since we're going to be attacked by him. Haha iraq main army was defeated in desert storm Haha I don't isagree with you on the mission accomplished Who the fuck wouldn't have a dreadfully weak resolve with a war that a majority don't support and you didn't want.

When exactly did Saddam stop murdering dissenters???
WMDs-Well, we did give him the components of chemical weapons in the '80s with a wink and a nod. I'm sure he turned all the extra chemicals into fertilizer...after gassing the Kurds.
I know we all love to argue extremes here, but I think there's a bit of a difference between forced sleep deprivation and being hung from your arms (dislocating your shoulders) while being repeatedly electrocuted!

Sure. One's physical torture, the other's psychological. If anything, psychological torture is worse.
surely we can do a better job in discussing Iraq, US Military, Bush etc...and it all starts with an intelligent (and hopefully non-repetitive) OP.
