Ridiculous, but I bet the person to blame is a lousy airport worker.
Meh.
Yay, TB for the win.

I imagine it probably went something like this:
Border Patrol: Hello Sir, do you have any illegal substances, trade goods, weapons or and medical conditions that would prevent you from legally crossing the border?
TB Patient: Hmmm.........nope.
Border Patrol: Okay. Bye.
TB Patient: Laters.

But don't they check every person's name with the no-fly list ? I mean, how else would they be able to identify every person on that list ? With the war on terror as it is, there are probably a lot of people on that list, and no one can know them all by hard, wouldn't you agree ?
I wonder if they are going to find out who did wrong in this case. Probably some customs official or border patrol agent who forgot to enter the guy's name into the system and check with the no-fly list. Poor bastard.
Then again, if the guy says he isn't sick, and he is an American citizen, why should the border guy even check his name with the no-fly list in the first place ? He was probably convinced that only foreign citizens would be on that list...

Isn't the point of the no-fly list that everyone on it is American?
I think he got on the plane before the CDC could finalize the paperwork. I only heard about ten seconds of it on the radio, so...
no idea. I thought it would contain every person wanted by police, or terrorists, those on the FBI watchlist, etc...Bubbalo wrote:

Not necessarily restricted to a certain nationality, that is.
But maybe someone familiar with those proceedings can enlighten us.
He knew when he was in Italy that he had TB and that is was a deadly stain as well, but he continued to fly putting all those people at risk.
I hope he's a good lawyer, because he's going to get sued.

From what I understand, the stupid self-centered asshat went elsewhere from Italy and hopped a plane to Canada; the no-fly lists only apply to flights into the US. What really galls me is that this shithead went against the advice of the CDC because apparently he had it in his head that Italy is some sort of third-world shithole when it comes to medical treatment and decided his life was worth more than the life of anyone else he came in contact with.
