i have used them both for short periods of time, (cause i suck at flying)  but this is what i think

APACHE i like the automatic rocket launcher and that you can turn in 1080 degrees circles with no problem, but i feel that the chopper is too "fat" and the missile camera is to low, also i feel it slower than the cobra

COBRAi like the controls but is really hard (at least for me) to do the circles like with the apache, also i like the gun and the missile camera also for manouver is better
(this is just my opinion, abouth how i feel the 2 choppers) maybe the top chopper pilots have better apretiation

Cobra is better - the apache is a bit more maneuverable, but I feel the gunner gets screwed out of a lot of points.  It seems to me the minigun on the cobra for the gunner has little to no splash damage, and the missile camera is place so low that the helo pilot has to nose up noticeably for you to be able to make a shot; unfortunately when he does this he only gets a good view of the air and not of what's on the ground that can shoot at him.

i like the cobra the most. i think its more maneuverable. i have figured out the controls with this thing so i can easily turn it around really fast, and i can make it circle around sideways very easily so the gunner can keep pounding the targets to hell.

The cobra is the most maneuverable chopper in the game, and the missile camera is very high compared to the MI-28. As for the minigun, it works fine if you know how to use it, and just because it doesnt have insane splash damage doesnt mean you cant kill plenty of people with it. Furthermore, the cobra is much better for piloting, (faster, more maneuvrable, rockets are spaced close together). In a dogfight, I'd much prefer the cobra or z-10, because of their better handling and rockets.

God help you if youre in an MI-28 and fighting a good cobra pilot.

And theres already a poll about the best attack helicopter. Not quite the same as this thread, but close: http://forums.bf2s.com/viewpoll.php?id=10794

Of course the mi-28 won because very few people devote their time to piloting, and everyone loves the flak cannon.

Yes its me... I put Mi-28 lol... Cannon instead of minigun and such. Sure Mi-28 reacts slower, but its a flying death for infantry and light vehicles.

I'm not a good pilot but my caegories:

Z-10

Maneuverability:                   good
Firepower: - vs infantry:        Medium/Low (due to gunner's crosshair design)
                - vs light vehicles: Medium (I'm talking about gun, not missles)
                - Armor:               High (pilot's and TV guided missles +  maneuverability)
Air to air combat:                  good
TK possibility:                       15%

AH-1Z

Maneuverability:                   good
Firepower: - vs infantry:        Medium
                - vs light vehicles: Medium/High (I'm talking about gun, not missles)
                - Armor:               High (pilot's and TV guided missles +  maneuverability)
Air to air combat:                  good
TK possibility:                       20% (little splash from minigun)

Mi-28

Maneuverability:                   Medium
Firepower: - vs infantry:        High(cannon huh)
                - vs light vehicles: High (I'm talking about gun, not missles)
                - Armor:               Medium (Maneuverability not that good vs tanks + Mi-28 has a bigger sight so    its easier to get hit by a tank)

Air to air combat:                  Medium (Mi-28 is a slow machine, the only way you can stand against a good             pilot is to climb as fast as possible and let cannon decide....otherways you die)
TK possibility:                       25% (often gunners just pull the trigger and make meat )

So afterall I'd say that Z-10 is mostly vs vehicles, AH-1Z: well balanced, kinda universal, Mi-28: Good only on two maps: Sharqi(the way better than AH) and Oman(there are some vehicles but the areas around the flags are filled up with infantry)

P.S. thats how I see it. Any other thoughts (dont listen t me I'm a noobpilot lol)

I don't fly all that much, but I do gun alot.  Apache is for fun to fly and rockets are fun to use.  Cobra is the better chopper though, very hard to hit and had decent firepower. (although I like gunning in the MI-28 better ^_^ )

im gonna go against the trend and say the mi-28,for an average pilot such as myself i find it to be the most forgiving and easiest to fly,def the least nimble of all the gunships however

that is what happens when the game designers dont do their research with the weapons they include in the game. the reason the apache 'longbow' is named as such is because of the mast mounted sight. its the round cheese cake like structure on top of the rotors. it was designed out of the need to hide the body of the heli under the tree line for cover while being able to acquire target from long range and shoot hellfires that fire up and come down when its over the target. you cant do that with the chin mounted sight of the regular apache or the cobra.

the tiger heli also has a mast mounted sight.

oh man, having a real longbow would be nuts. every vehicle on the map would be dead within seconds.

i know why is called longbow, but since that camera or sight doesn't work i didn't put it in my "review"
