I have all the badges and am close to getting 50,000 points.
Bf2s says that my next rank is Seargent Major, but BFHQ says that my next rank is Master Gunnery Seargent
Which one is right?
Also do you need all vertern combat badges for Seargent Major.

I look at your stats and it seems to me that BFHQ lies! Well Sometimes BFHQ update itself only next day... When did you receive your last award?

It's all about "surprise". You look into your BFHQ and it tells you, that you will be promoted to Master (Gunnery) Sergeant. In the round you expect the promotion the game says, that you have been promoted to First Sergeant/Sergeant Major and you think "ololol...wtf i'm teh pwnage".
If BFHQ would display the real rank, EA/DICE would reveal their oh so hidden secret, which badges are required for the higher rank.
