Greetings,

My apologies if this suggestion has been floated before, but ...

Wouldn't it be handy for medics (and others) to be able to drag or carry (a la MOH:PA) their wounded buddies to a safe, covered spot, prior to reviving them?

I remember being able to do this in RTCW & ET (I think it was the Shrub Mod that allowed you to do it), and IMHO it might help/allow the "Rambo" medics out there, to do their job without getting killed so often.

Just a though ...?

not a very good idea, people would just kill the medic when they went to pick em up n wlak off, but it would look cool

not if the medic just used a grappleing hook, i mean, what better way to get your vet grapple then to drag people arround with it

This is not a bad idea.. There's been lots of times that someone was in the open that was gunned down and I want to go and zap but it's under heavy fire...  By standing there reviving I'm almost guaranteed to die. If I have a chance to grab them and run for cover that's maybe 5 feet away (lose lots of breath while at it), I will try it 9/10 times.. That's what medics do.

And yes, it would look really cool

The ability to do a fireman's carry might be better than a drag, since it doesn't take a trained Marine long to get a buddy up and onto a shoulder. Dragging might be less hard work on EA's part to map out the graphics and what not. I think it's a great idea. Less deaths on my end!

you'd get shot even easier than before.

yeah but reviving someone while your both under fire usually gives 3 kills the guy shooting at your butt.  I'm all for it.  I hate getting revived to die again along with the medic before I can reorient and shoot at the guy who killed me in the first place.

I like it, but if I got revived by a medic and he got shot shortly afterward I would pick up his kit and revive him because i owe him one, 2 thumbs up and 6 stars rather then ten because troops don't drag anymore, they carry.
The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.

if i was playing with one of those annoying assholes i think i would tk them then drag them around for a while

but i think that would be pretty cool. but i could imagine that right when a body started moving, someone would toss a grenade or something over.

My opinion is that it would not really be worth it to carry, or drag, a teammate away and then revive them:
a) It makes you a more obvious target
b) Would more than likely restrict, if not eliminate, your fighting ability
c) You more than likely wouldnt be able to revive in time before he respawns, by which time a guy has seen you and before you know it, your being carried away.

1) Yes - this has been posted before, but so what?
2) Yes, this is a very cool & realistic idea
3) HOWEVER - in the spirit of game balance (so of BF2 is NOT realistic because of game balance) consider these points:

- Drag or carry? It matters not, just get the guy outta the line of fire
- Fatigue - yes, make it count but at half the rate of sprinting
- Dexterity penalty - forget it - too complex (Dexterity -1 for carrying Special Forces & - 4 for Carrying AT)
- Weapons - no weapon usage while carrying
- Re-spawn - once you are beign carried by a team mate the re-spawn clock stops (or is slowed by half).
- Corner Glitch - so as a medic I see a dead guy's foot.  Can I just grab that and start to carry him off?
- Choppers - can I grab a guy, jump into a full chopper and ride off?  Do I need to bail to revive said dead dude?
- The Kit - think of the programming involved with making the kit follow said dead dude.
- Points - This is the kind of stuff that Congressional Medals of Honor are awarded for.  Drag and Revive (with BOTH parties surviving) = revive X 4

Don't get me wrong.  This is a way cool idea.  Just not as simple as folks think.
