New Hard drive

I bought the....

EIDE 320GB/Go 7200 rpm hard drive.

The problem is that when I installed it I only have 127 gb's weird.... where's the other 193 gb's ? I thought when I installed it, windows partitioned itself but it didn't one of my friends checked and the information is right...Did I get screwed if so I lost my receipt that's why I'm asking for some help here. I only payed 150 ish for the drive but I'm still pissed that a majority of my hard drive space is gone. The new drive is hooked up to the master ribbon and my old drive is connected to the other ribbon. I looked into my computer and it says I have two drives one being the new one and one being my old..... If anyone can help I will pass out karma accordingly...

I'm thinking of reformatting but I would hate to install everything again..when I just finished a couple of nights ago

You paid £150 for a hard drive?
A tad on the expensive side, hmm... Get some partition software and look at your HD. There may be "un-partitioned" space - which would mean that Windows only partitioned part of the HD. You would have to partition the un-partitioned space and then merge it with the local disk space.

That's what my friend checked and everything is right for 127 gb's...Could they have taking my hard drive out and by mistake put a different one in the box ?

edit: it wasn't rapped in plastic it just had tape and a security lock on it.... I should have kept my f'in receipt.

That was the problem... I guess my friend didn't look hard enough ( he was drunk at the time lol )
