Which of these systems is better? (8800 gts vs 8600 gt + bigger HD + 4GB memory)

Elite E6600 GTS - http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.as … KEY=183363

Elite Express DX10 - http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.as … KEY=197245

I don't want any "building it is better"
All I want to know is which of the systems stated is better.

GTS aswell.....but please do not buy from MESH. I had nothing but problems with them, and their customer service sucks soooo much!

p.s. and building it IS better.

First one.
But seriously....they fail bad. I have a Mesh... and it fails bad. You can get better systems that are cheaper and much better. You are paying for "teh awesome unbelievable shit components".

it's a e-rule that you have to say it whenever they say not to.. unless it demeans you! well, if you want my opinion (which you should) i'd go for the second one, and maybe upgrade the graphics to an 8800gts if you can afford it!

I dont want to sound like a crazy person, but

WHY GO FOR THE FIRST ONE?!?!?!/!?1/!?! THE SECOND IS MUCH BETTER VALUE

/calm

Pros of First one: 8800GTS

Pros of 2nd: 22" Screen
                   4GB RAM
                   500GB HDD

Cons of 2nd: 8600GT

Now, cant you see that the price difference between a 8800 and an 8600 is not the same as a bigger monitor, HDD and RAM?!

Buy the second, sell the 8600GT and buy an 8800GTS.

Imagine what you would have, E6600, 8800GTS, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, 22" Screen, for, by my calculations, under £1100.

An 8600GT is worth around £70, a 8800GTS is around £160 (both ex VAT).

Now you tell me where for £90 i can get 2GB RAM, 180GB HDD and an extra 3" for my monitor!

First of all. 4GB or RAM is USELESS. Unless you are using a 64-bit system.
On a 32-bit system it is known and proven that 1GB of RAM will be automatically eaten up by your computer. No matter what specs you have. The system eats up 1GB of RAM and leaves you with 3.
The RAM is also quite poor.

The HDD is bigger, I see that. But...the first system is more balanced.

The second one also has a better warranty and a TV tuner.

And a wireless USB adapter.

And Antivirus.

Please for the love of God get the second one.

So if i were to give you 2GB of RAM you would say no? It may not be fully utilized under 32bit - bit it still helps. Anyway, it comes with Vista, no? Arent i right in saying Vista comes with both 32 and 64 bit install CDs - install 64.

So, if you go with 2GB then, your only left with 1....

Same for both.

Zimmer wrote:

Yep! Extra 180GB... (Please note, i AM insane, i keep looking at the 320Gb and thinking its relating to the 320MB for the GTS).

Zimmer wrote:

The two systems are the same, but:
1st has 8800GTS,

2nd doesnt have 8800GTS, has 2GB more RAM, 3" bigger screen, better warranty, a wireless USB thingy and AV software,

Come on, how is less "more well balanced"?!

EDIT: Forgot it also has a TV tuner!

EDIT2: FFS its even got more USB ports.

You know when you see a flim, and the main character knows that the terrosits will blow up the building in the next hour, but no one will believe him? Thats how i feel!

EDIT3: I knew there was someting wierd. Look at the first one. On the top left it says 320GB HHD, on bottom specs it says 500GB - im not crazy afterall.

QUOTE PYRAMIDZ. And no, if you have 2GB you get 2GB. It is >4 when you lose 1, basically.

Thats under 32. I rekon this can come as 64.

Lets do some maths.

2 = 2.

4 - 1 = 3

3 > 2

K?!

Even if you magically loose a GB under 32, you are still on 3GB. But what if it comes 64? Then your on 4GB. Its win win.

If its for gaming then its the first one.

like =Karma-Kills= said, if you go for the second certainly sell the 8600 and buy the 8800, but if ur not willin to do that will need to be the first imo.

Nombah one, although the RAM is clocked quite slowly. Anyway, first of all you'd need to load all the Data from your HDD to your RAm, meaning that the HDD is the bottleneck in most cases anyway.

Upgrade the second to the GTS to get a PC that completely blows the first one away for £100 more.

Ugh. Stupidity.
32-bit system.
3GB = 3GB
2GB = 2GB
1GB = 1GB

4GB = 3GB

Capiche? It will NOT make a single difference to the computers performance with 4GB in instead of 3GB. Not one ounce of difference.

In some cases 3GB is even 2.75GB ...

That should only be the case if you have different RAM sticks ( different CAS latency ) so they will not operate at the best performance.
That was just like my computer when it was alive. I had 1GB of RAM sticks but they operated at 75% because I had different RAM sticks.

4 > 2
3 > 2

Its still better, 3GB or 4GB.

Come on, more RAM can never hurt. What about in the future? Can you imagine everyone staying on 2GB forever? Remember when 512MB was awesome?

Zimmer wrote:

Assumptions make an ASS out you U and ME (geddit?!)

Now thats stupidity.

You're assuming Vista shipped is 32bit - that is not specified, when you buy a new Vista edition it comes with 2DVDs - 32 and 64 bit. So im sure these pc's can come as 64bit.

So that makes,
4 > 2.

EDIT: Ahem.. Victory Speech:

Mesh Support wrote:

The option to purchase a PC with Windows 64bit is available, but not via our website. You would need to speak to a salesperson to order it specifically
So, 4GB still < 2GB?
