Last night. Dalian plant, 16 player server. Full team. Hive squad is practicing for a tourney, so we wanted to get all of our teammates on one side. We had 7 hive members and one non-hive. We kicked the non-hive, for teamkilling. He was at a -9 within 2 minutes, so he had to go.

Long story short, someone accused us of teamstacking because we had the hive on one side. If it's a clan (squad) server, isn't the point to get all of your teammates on one side. Then we got accused of stat-padding, which was crap. So the guy switched sides to play on our side towards the end of a map because we were winning.

Anyhow, opinions please.

I wouldn't have a problem with this providing you played fairly. That goes for anything on BF2, I dont mind padders because I hate cheats so much.  Being able to look through walls etc, it stinks and needs to be acted on.

Clans should be able to play on the same side on their own clan server, at least. Publish that in your server description so people know it before they join your server. Ask the person to change sides first then if he rejects it kick him. Make sure the kick reason is exactly why you kicked him "we asked you  to change, you declined so...."

When a clan/clan server/clan server admin get a bad reputation its damn near impossible to get it back.

As to stat padding, sooner or later someone in your clan may be caught stat padding on your server while all your clan mates are on the same team - guilt by association. Maybe he only did it once and only one guy did it, doesn't matter perceptions will ruin reputations. Make sure you also OPENLY kick your own clan members when they are caught breaking rules, inlcuding admins.

Courage mate, courage.

Examples:

let's say an admin TKs a non clan player to get his tank, the player punishes for a non-combat area TK and the admin boots him. W-R-O-N-G. That is unethical and lowers the regard to your clan as well.  Even if you announce in the server description that "we boot for punishing admins " if the admin is wrong he should get punished. period. Only a child or an uneducated person will argue against this and they will argue using personal attacks not facts or ethical decision making analysis.

Funny thing is, nobody on our team was padding. We don't do that, there's no point to it. He was just pissed off we were all playing on the same side, and winning. Apparently, if our squad plays on the same side, with even teams, when we start winning, we somehow cheat or pad?

Oh well, thanks for the replies.

you know my out look on the whole thing is this. if you want to play on the same side so be it. if you waiste the other side and dont want to make the teams even as far as skill level goes, so be it. it just means that people wont want to come back o your server. and as for the tk'ing to get a car, tank, plane, or helo that is just lame. it makes the game play suck. if you want something ether take what is availible or go steal it from the enemy. lol.

Ok the stat padding part needs no explanation, it's just wrong, you shouldn't need our opinions to know that. most of what he said was all due to what I like to call gaming syndrome. People play and get real 'into' the game. then when this feeling is broken or disturbed they get very angry. They act very rashly and talk a lot of nonsense. It happens to the best of us not just smacktards and whiners (though they do it a lot more).
My opinion: take words like these with a grain of salt.

On a less fundamental note, If you don't want people to complain about teamstacking then I'd suggest not stacking your team. Nothing wrong with practicing for a tournament, but it makes for a more enjoyable game when the skill of both teams are balanced.

I believe you, my comment was IF.  If u r clean and people complain it is on them not you but it may not matter. That's all I meant. We have a clan with 5-6 regulars in it and we join ranked servers to play. Even one clan-squad can unbalance an open game and piss off the targets.

Again if you forewarn people in your server description that you often play one team as a clan then they really don't have a basis for complaint. The other option maybe is to turn off ranking/stat services while you practice. Then give them 1.5x more ppl than you have.
