Not that much rice - India and China account for the bulk of global rice production. Agricultural exports do not account for very much of the value of US exports.
"In agriculture, the country is a top producer of corn, soy beans, rice, and wheat", straight from the US article on wikipedia. I checked rice article and it looked a little different. Hmms, I'm confused. Oh well... we do though have one thing we like to export; jobs.
Sorry but that is WRONG. The US is not the largest producer of rice. That is just wrong. China makes 70% of the worlds rice.
Or 32%. But 70% and 32% are pretty close, right?

Also remember, China is a net importer of rice, whereas the US is a net exporter.

Yeah its only 26%. I was wrong. However i was right that China makes the most.

China is not a net importer of rice.

The dollar is fine. It was a storm in a Tea Cup. For once I wish some would just admit they were wrong.
The fact that my pound was worth $1.7 and its now worth $2 is quite a large change.

It means we can import stuff from the US for roughly half price what we would pay here.

http://www.nike.com/index.jhtml?l=nikes … &la=EN
$90 down to $74.99 so thats £45 and £37.49 not including the import cost (which will be about 5-10 quid so not a huge amount)

http://store.nike.com/emeastore/#,en,GB … 73//0--0|3
In the UK shop however they are £90, so I can buy top of the line trainers much much cheaper.
And this of course applies for anything that can be imported from the US, the more expensive it is in both countries the more money you will save (i.e. something that costs £100/$100 will save you £50 whilst something that costs £1000/$1000 will save you £500)

Therefore yes, we should/will party, or at least binge heavily.
